Typhoon In Philippines Update

Brother Jeremiah has continued his work delivering the much-needed natural food and supplies to the believers in Manila. This is his most recent report.

Greetings in the Precious Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Today, we've just visited four more churches that had been affected by the recent flooding in the Metropolitan Manila. We have been to fourteen churches to date, delivering relief supplies such as sacks of rice, sardines, biscuits, noodles, other food, and used clothing, especially to churches located in areas where all their possessions were practically washed out by the flood. We deliver and bring these relief supplies in sacks and cartons and in their original packing, and these are being repacked by the respective churches to be further distributed to the affected members. There are three to four more churches on our itinerary for tomorrow that are in the province of Laguna, while we are still trying to get to the other churches who may also had been affected but we could not make contact with. We intend to personally visit them too, as soon as we shall have delivered the needed relief items to these churches already determined to have been affected. We estimate that there could be about twenty churches and congregations affected by the flood involving no less than two hundred families of believers.

There are churches where we had to wade through waist-deep floodwaters for almost three kilometers in bringing such relief supplies there, while some are still in very muddy areas until now. Three of these churches are in areas that reportedly will remain flooded until December. There are church congregations where about ninety-five percent of the members were affected, while there are those in which there are one or two families affected. There had not been any major damage to the structures of the affected churches except for most of the musical instruments and electronic equipments as amplifiers, speakers, etc. that were greatly damaged, and also the Message books that need to be replaced.

Most of our brethren in these churches were only able to hold their services last Sunday. For the others, they held their church services in some other areas while the others have yet to hold their worship services. We continue to reach out to every one of these churches and congregations to extend every help that we can, and we are deeply thankful to Brother Joseph and Voice Of God Recordings for the very kind and immediate response to our request for help that we are able to immediately mobilize. Again in behalf of the believers, we thank all the Saints there for their continued prayers and their love and support to the Bride in the Philippines.

God bless you all.
Bro. Jeremiah
