Update On The Relief Effort in the Philippines

Brother Jeremiah has been in the northern provinces of the Philippines over the past few days, coordinating the relief effort for the believers there. He gathered the ministers together, and started dispensing supplies for them to deliver to their congregations. The following is his most recent report and pictures.

Greetings in the Wonderful Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

We thank the Lord for a safe and successful trip that we had last Friday in going to San Carlos City in Pangasinan. It was already about 3AM when we left Manila, and we arrived there in San Carlos at about 9:30 in the morning. We were happy to meet Bro. Henry Rance and his family at his home with a brother-minister in La Union church who arrived there a little earlier than us. A few more minutes afterwards, more ministers came and there started the conversations and sharing of experiences of how they and their congregations have suffered and have come through, by God's grace, the worst deluge that has ever happened to their places as far as they can remember. We then realized all the more the magnitude of the suffering of our brethren and the imperative need to lend a helping hand especially at this very time.

There were over 30 ministers who came representing 33 affected churches and outreaches involving a total of 435 families in Pangasinan, La Union, Tarlac and Benguet. Each of these ministers came carrying along with them the burden of how they could be of help to the needs of their affected congregations, who most of these are materially in need after they lost most of their possessions and livelihood in rampaging floodwaters.

The help from the Voice of God Recordings therefore came at such a time when they needed them the most. A number of them have met once again after some years and have set aside whatever differences that they have to cooperate and work together on how we could go about doing the relief operation optimally and equitably among them. After an opening prayer, we started the meeting, and the group came up with, and agreed on, the most basic food items that are much needed at this time. The various ways on how we can get these much needed help to the affected brethren, considering the vastness of the area to be covered, were also taken up. Everyone agreed that the base of the relief operation will still be at brother Rance's place where it doesn't get flooded in San Carlos, Pangasinan. It is where all food relief will be repacked for every affected family, and where everything will be picked-up for delivery.

Thank you for all your continuing prayers and support. God bless you.
