My wife and I were looking at a nice house that was part of an estate. The house was a nice brick ranch, and by looking at it, everything seemed like it would be a great place.
It was well maintained, located next to a school on the end of a road, with a nice yard, and kind of private. We prayed and asked the Lord if this house is meant to be for us, “Please allow us to get it in our price range, and if it is not meant to be, please don’t let the deal go through.”
We start bidding on the house, and the price went above what we agreed we could afford. Tempting as it was, we did not go over our limit. My wife and I did not get the property, and we were kind of down about it. We went home and started talking about what had happen, and decided it was not meant to be, and the Lord did not want us to have it.
A month or two passed, and the same house comes on the market for sale, at a price close to the auction price. (My wife) and I started wondering why is it back on the market? I started to investigate the property and look up the information to find out that while the house looks great, it would require major money for the public water plumbing. Once I figured it out, I told my wife, and we praised the Lord for keeping us safe from that.
I also praised the Lord for showing us why He did not want us to have it, and that even more strengthen our faith and trust in the Lord.
Sometimes it is difficult to accept the Lord's will, especially when everything seems perfect and meant to be. It is even harder to accept something when you don’t understand why. I praise the Lord for guiding us and helping us, because most of the time we cannot tell the outcome of something or what consequences will be of our actions.
