Lord, Lift Me Up

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

We all go through valleys in our lives, but our Father is able and willing to lift us back up to the mountaintop with encouragement right when we need it most. The Apostle Paul tells us that our valleys are “only temporal,” and that the body of Christ looks to the Eternal Hope that, someday soon, will be a reality. This brother found his comfort in the same place we all find it: Fellowship with our Lord Jesus.

I am so thankful to God for one thing is sure, HE made my family and me for a purpose. I was so encouraged with these "Nuggets" posts. I woke up this morning kind of discouraged, seeing my three kids at home. I couldn't afford school fees for them to be in school this term and wife kind of down in health.

Looking at my situation of not having what it takes to provide for the family, I just went under the Pillar of Fire and Hoffman Head of Christ to talk to God. I asked if He would help me, because I look at my life's situation as if I have failed in my responsibility as a father and husband. Deep in my heart, I thought what to do is to remain focused in the will of God for all these trying times.

I thought of having a Quiet Time with God in a secret place (at the chapel in the VGR office, Lagos) later today, and as I opened this VGR site, I was expecting to be directed to the home page first, but instead it was the “Golden Nuggets” post. Now I surely know that truly, there is a purpose and God allowed this to happen to me.

I believe He is a way-maker. Make me understand your Leadership, Lord! My soul is lifted up.

Praise God. Amen.
