Prayer

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

James 5:16

That quote from the Book of James should always be on our minds. How many needs are there out among God’s people that would be granted, if they were simply brought before the Lord Jesus in prayer?

The world is in a dire condition. God is not going to put up with the world’s filth forever. Rampant violence, murders, immoral living, the unprecedented rise of homosexuality, and hatred of the Word of God have flooded the world. It won’t be long before it is destroyed by fire, but before that happens, we will see the Bride come together in the unity of the Holy Spirit and leave this sin-filled world. The prophet taught us that “Prayer is the most powerful weapon was ever put in the hand of man kind.” Do you ever wonder what would happen if the Bride would set aside all differences and every member would pray earnestly for the other members? Things would change, and they would change fast!

All over the world, believers put together “prayer lists” of people who could use a touch from the Lord. Sometimes these requests are read before the churches, other times families pray for the need during evening devotions, or most often, the burden is kept in the heart of an individual who continually places the request before the Lord. Our Father loves it when His children pray for each other.

Here is a testimony from a sister who submitted a request through the VGR prayer request line. It’s a small testimony, but those little things turn into bigger things, and the bigger things turn into great things.

I just wanted to share a small testimony for the honor and glory of God. About six weeks ago, I developed a ganglion cyst on the top of my right hand. It was a concern to me so I went to the doctor, and he said that it was fluid and there was no need to do anything (what was interesting is that he told me it was known as a “Bible bump”). Anyways, I sent in my prayer request to VGR. Since that time I had been praying for a miracle and asking the Lord to dissolve it.

I had the privilege of attending the services in Jeffersonville on Father's Day and the Lord really touched my soul that Sunday morning. I was still claiming my healing. Last Wednesday morning I woke up and to my surprise, the cyst was completely gone. The top of my right hand was back to normal. I thank the Lord for the miracle and also that my husband was a witness to it. I also believe that this was to show him that my Lord Jesus Christ still works miracles!

It doesn’t have to be the VGR prayer request line. You can ask your family member, your friend, or even that person who sits two rows in front of you at church, but remember to have faith when you ask. God will take your faith, add it to the believer’s faith who is praying for you, and then it MUST BE DONE! He promised.

16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.

John 15:16-17
