Now what happens? When the old spirit has gone out of a man, the Bible said, he—the devil is gone out of the man, he walks in dry places and comes back to found the house all swept out. You know what happens?

You once lived in old tin can alley (That's right.) where all the devils, and rats, and everything else lived, fusses, and fights, and stews, and arguments. But when the Holy Spirit comes in, He can't live in a place like that. That's the reason people today can shout, and scream, and go on, but live any kind of a life afterwards.

The Holy Spirit, when It moves in, It takes God's big bulldozer, and comes down and digs that old alley up, throws the dirt out, buries it in the sea of forgetfulness, and terraces off a nice big place, and puts up a great big mansion; and He lives there. And the flowers of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, goodness, and mercies, and kindness, and faith is blooming around this house. Glory.

No one ever come to Christ in the right attitude, but what went away with what they asked for: no one.

And a very prominent thing, people know it when you're anointed with the Holy Spirit. They might in their heart, or in their—in reasoning, say, “Oh, there, that guy is crazy. Oh, I—I…” But down in their heart they admire you (That's right.), down in their heart.

They might fuss with you, ’cause they're trying to agree with their reasonings; but down in their hearts they admire, unless their soul's so seared till they have nothing but reasonings. For if you're a real Christian, living a true life, and living the Word and God's with you, everybody will admire it, if his soul's still in touch with God. Amen.

When looks like everything has gone wrong, God is giving you a trial. He's got confidence in you. He don't have to baby you around. You're not a hotbed plant, a hybrid. You're a real Christian. God is giving you a test, see what you'll do about it. Amen. No wonder Peter said, “These fiery trials, why, count it a joy. It's—it's more precious to you than gold.”

You Bible readers, I heard you holler “amen,” and you preacher back there. That, that's right. The love would be so far away, in the last days; the only love there would be left, would be between the Elect of God's people. “The father would be against mother, and mother against father, and children against parents, and different ones against each other.” And the only love would be left, would just be that Elect, just the Elected. The word “Elect” there comes from the word “Elected,” God's elected people.

To overcome means to recognize the devil at every one of his tricks.

Notice, but when she discovered that a Scriptural Fountain had spoken to her by a Scriptural sign that she had been looking for, she left that Jacob's denominational system and never went back to it again, because she had found the real Rock. See? She run into the city. She was through with sin. She was no more a foul woman. She said, "Come, see Who I have found, a Man Who told me the things that I done. Isn't this the very Christ?" She... That cistern might've been all right. It had served its purpose. Now she was at the True Fountain. The cistern had been all right until the True Fountain was open. But when the True Fountain come along, the cistern lost it's strength. She found there's a better place to drink. And there is a better place. There's a better place, and that's in Christ.

The Christian has not one worry in the world. They should be the most freest, happiest people in all the world. 'Cause there's nothing… You can't lose. And all things work together for good to them that love God. So how can we lose? There's just nothing to lose, is there? We're just anchored away in Jesus Christ, going home to glory, having a good time while we're going along, God providing everything for us. Marvelous.

And sometimes when we think that we're somebody… And the highest Hierarchy of Heaven became flesh in a foot-wash Flunky when He come to wash mortal's feet. When He come to the earth He didn't come to be a big somebody. God always takes the—the nobodies to make somebody out of them. That's the trouble with the people today; they're trying to be a somebody. You want to become a nobody. God takes something that there's nothing to, to make something out of it, and it proves that He's God. How that this low job to wash the feet of the people, and Jesus taken that job, the lowest that there was on the earth, to become an—an example.

I truly believe that the coming of the Lord Jesus is nigh at hand. I believe that if—we're living in the shadows of His coming, and I want to do all that I know how to get everyone ready for that grand event that's been prophesied, and people has looked for it since His going away. And we see the conditions arising, both in the political world, and also in the military world, and in the religious world, that all signs are pointing now that the coming is close at hand. To see the church in the minority, spiritual believers, and we see the—all that He spoke of taking place.

He ordained the ravens, His servants. Bless them birds, His servants, that kept the voice of—of Elijah alive during the time of his—his isolation from the church. The ravens brought him flesh and bread at morning, and flesh and bread in the evening, and he drank from the little fountain while the rest of them down there were doing without any spiritual food and water.

Now, the first thing I want to say, is, Jesus never lived for Himself. His life was spent for others. That’s, perfectly, Eternal Life. When you say you go to church, and you do good things, that’s fine. But when you live your life to yourself, you haven’t Eternal Life. Eternal Life, is living for others. It proved it when It come in the Lamb of God. He lived, and had Eternal Life, because He did not live for Himself. He lived for others. And you receive Eternal Life, by receiving that day, and you don’t live for yourself no more. You live for others.

What are you eating on? Where you getting your daily diet? Where are you feeding, from the Word of God or some old a carrion that's been used back yonder, years and years ago? Is your experience, even tonight, with something that you picked up many years ago; or is it fresh and new tonight, new Manna that's just fell from Heaven, and you're feeding your soul on It, looking tomorrow for something good and better? If you're not that way, now with your heads bowed and your eyes closed, and your hearts bowed, ask yourself this sincere question. And not to me, but to God, would you raise your hand in a testimony, of saying this, “God, condition my soul and my spirit, that I can feed only on the Word of God.”
