John 9:1-3
And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
It is said that when the pink baby is born, the sins of the family have brought a curse upon the parents. Some of these children are killed at birth. Many can’t go to school, because their eyes often fail in blindness. They can’t work, because the searing South African sun blisters their delicate skin. As they walk down the road in their big hats and sunglasses, people point and make remarks under their breath, “I wonder what brought the curse on that family?”
Superstitions and dangers surround the albino in Africa. It is thought that their hair brings good luck and is often woven into the nets of fishermen. Their flesh is prized by witchdoctors and used in magic potions. Rumors even say that an albino never dies, he just disappears. But could this disease be a blessing rather than a curse?
Deep into the heart of South Africa, in a region called Lucikiciki, a brother named Xholani has a sister who is afflicted with the albino disease and lives in an institution dedicated to helping with their special needs. He told his sister of a mighty Message brought by a prophet of God. When she heard this prophet, she immediately accepted the Message as God’s vindicated Truth and brought the good news back to the institution.
She witnessed to the principal who allowed Brother Xholani to have services there. After a few services, the principal accepted the Message of the hour.
Brother Ronnie Pillay, VGR Office Manager in Durban, was soon contacted to provide this new congregation with Message material. He loaded his truck with books and tapes, and drove about 100 miles to join with Brother Xholani. From there, the brothers traveled another 30 miles into the South African bush where they met the principal and the new Message congregation. Brother Ronnie greeted the people on behalf of Voice Of God Recordings and the believers throughout the world who make it possible for them to receive this life-giving Word.
The people at the institution were overwhelmed that anyone, let alone people in other countries, would care enough to send them these wonderful gifts. “Why are we so special? The denominations don’t care about us, so why should these men bring such valuable material from America? Why do you care so much?”
Persecution has been a normal part of the lives of these people. The ridicule of the outside world tormented them day and night. But now this little group is standing in a Light brighter than ten thousand suns. The Son of God is showing that His Love reaches beyond the color of their skin and goes directly to their heart. Their eyes may be blind to natural things, but they have been opened to Spiritual things. Through a missionary that had a burden to spread the Gospel, they have seen the Love of Jesus Christ. And now, because of the burden of their fellow members in the Bride of Christ, they have the honor of hearing the Voice of God with their own ears.
Without their affliction, these precious souls would not have been in this institution and probably would not have heard the Message of the hour. Who is the cause of their affliction? Who sinned? Was it them? Was it their parents? “Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.”
Little did he know it through his youthful days being blind. He was born blind, and through his youthful days it might've been hard for him to understand. But after while he finds out, it was for a testimony of the Lord Jesus. Now, God does things like that.
