Just wanted to share this testimony to the
Saints about my cousin David. He was an alcoholic for years, and from time
to time would come to my parents’ house, usually drunk. After I was
converted, he came by, and I tried to minister to him. This was a year ago.
I started praying for him, as I had done for years, praying for my whole
family. Then this past Christmas, he came by, and I didn’t know how to help
him. I sat there, in my heart not knowing what to say. My parents asked him
to eat Christmas dinner. He would not, so he left. I got home and prayed.
The next day, I went up to the post office to send off some bills. It seems
the Lord revealed to me he would be at his mother’s house, which she had just
passed away, so I went by there. He was there. I went in, and he was drunk. We
sat outside, and I really let him have it with love. I told him I had a tape for
him to hear and to sober up, this was very important. The next day I took my
tape player and some tapes by. Well, he was drunk again. I told him I would not
allow him to hear a tape until he was sober.
That was too much for him. He said the next morning, he awoke about 2:30am
and felt so ashamed for doing me that way, he threw all the beer cans and beer
out. The next day I took him to my house to show him the VGR website. I played
the 20th Century Prophet for him. At the end of the video, Brother Branham asked
anyone who wanted to be healed to stand up. And to my surprise, he stood up!
With his hands in the air, he started repenting. I asked him, do you now want to
accept Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour? He said yes. I said, do you
denounce all religions but the real Jesus Christ? He said yes.
The next day, he was baptized in the Name Of our Lord Jesus Christ and hasn't
had a desire to drink. He now wants to receive the Holy Spirit and wants God to
deliver him from smoking. Now he comes by every Wednesday and twice on Sundays,
as we just press play. May this be to the glory of our risen King.
