Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Luke 1:26-1:38 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. (Luke 1:35)

The rabbi sadly said that the great Jehovah of old must have turned His back on His people, but that was too much for Joseph. He opened the scrolls and read from the Book of Isaiah: For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given... About that time, his young espoused wife was strangely warned. She said, “Joseph, what was the prophet speaking of when he said, 'Unto us a Child is born, and unto us a Son is given.' Who is this Son and this Child that he was speaking of?” Joseph looked back at her and said, “Well, my dear, the prophet was speaking of the coming Messiah, the hope of Israel...”

Mary couldn’t sleep all night with the thoughts of the prophet’s words in her head. The next day, she awoke late with the Scriptures still on her mind. She made her way down the lonely street, when a Light flashed before her and the Angel Gabriel gave her the Good News, “Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.” (Luke 1:30-31)
