Tape Boy

Brother Mangongolo had been a believer for about five years, but it was not until 1987 that his life would forever change.

When the Message tapes arrived in Mbandaka City for the first time around 1987, it was the first occasion for us to hear the prophet’s voice and that had a great impact on us at the point that our vision about the Message changed from then on until now. So each voice, regardless its origin, that doesn’t sound the same to that of the messenger of the age was revolting us.

The more he listened, the more of a burden he had to share the Message of Malachi 4 with others. He soon began playing Brother Branham’s tapes in his church. The burden continued to grow, so he began spreading the Message to outlying villages, and then farther. In 2008, he met Brother Mali, VGR Office Manager in Kinshasa.

After the meeting with Reverend Pastor Mali Kumu Alunga, Voice Of God Recordings’ representative for French speaking countries in Central Africa, and our DR-Congo Elder Reverend Pastor Barutti Kasongo, our dream became true for we finally got the right contact to the missionary work of Malachi 4... As you can see now, we got the inspiration many years ago but we were in lack of a good contact that could help us to progress. Now as the Lord has answered our prayers; your fellowship hand and your morale, material and spiritual support are going to be welcome.

He now travels up and down the Congo River armed with a tape player, cassettes, and French Message books. His wife works harvesting corn and selling it at the local market to help him in his ministry of playing the tapes to the natives along the river. Oftentimes, he reads the French Message books aloud and a translator translates the Message into Lingala for the people who do not speak French. For the skeptic, the testimonies that follow Brother Mangongolo’s ministry of playing the tapes are impossible. But to the believer, we know that all things are possible to them that believe:

Yenga was once a Catholic, and converted to the Pentecostal denomination. He was given a tract called, “The Messenger.” Although Yenga knew nothing about Brother Branham and did not understand the tract, he decided to keep it. A few days later, his children were stricken with malaria. He bought a series of malaria pills to give to the sick children.

His wife gave them the first dose and placed the rest of the medication inside the tract. When it came time for the evening dose, the husband asked his wife for the pills. She told him that she placed them in the tract. Yenga opened the tract and saw no medication. The two turned the house upside-down looking for the pills, with no success. Yenga visited his uncle, who was the one who gave him the tract, and told him the story. His uncle, a Message believer, advised him to talk to Brother Mangongolo. Brother Mangongolo invited him to Sunday service.

Yenga’s heart jumped within him as he heard the tape. After the service, he testified that he had never heard anything like this in his life, neither in the Catholic church or the Pentecostal church.

He attended service again the next Sunday and listened even more attentively, desiring that the Message would penetrate deep into his soul. The Food he was eating was so delicious that he never wanted the meal to end.

On the third Sunday, he brought his wife and children (now well from their sickness) to the service. After listening to the tape, he made the decision to be baptized. A few weeks later, his wife went into the waters of baptism also. His testimony is that he and his family believe this Message because it is so alive and timely, not what he received in the churches that he once attended.

Brother Mangongolo also sent us the testimony of Brother Yekwa. A high fever struck him late one Sunday evening and he found his healing within the Word.

In the night of Sunday, I was seriously sick, but I was unable to know which sickness I was suffering from. About 9pm the fever arose much more. My wife told me to go to the hospital but I refused though I was feeling so sick and the case was becoming serious.

After a while, I got inspired to listen to Brother Branham’s Message tape entitled, The Rejected King. While listening to it, my wife and I fell asleep. When I woke up about midnight and some minutes later, I felt I was completely healed. Then I wanted to sleep again but a voice in my heart told me to write this as a testimony.

Praise to the God of Branham forever.

Rather than only being heard among his family, or even throughout his village, this testimony is now being read by thousands of believers around the world because of the leading the Lord placed on this brother’s heart in the early morning hours.

Brother Mangongolo:

Our audio tape post welcomes all believers from everywhere and brothers from the islands in the neighborhood that are waiting the Coming of the Lord. Services take place each Wednesday and Sunday. We have many plans for the future, but we are unable to carry them out because of the lack of material. However, we are working hard for the tapes listening. We need to have in the future, God willing, all the movies the Voice of God has to show the people. We also give out tracts when it is possible for they help us to get in touch with the people. The Lord is drawing His own by this way too, the attached testimonies confirm it.

Here is now the course of the service. We listen to some planned sequence of the message from the English-French tape and in the meantime we are following the same message in the book until the last paragraph planned. Then we stop the listening, and we start reading the same sequence or paragraphs in the French book and an interpreter translates into Lingala for those who don’t understand the French language. We can spend one or two months with one message.

When we have only the book, we just go through the reading and an interpreter translates into Lingala. We experienced that just the simple reading sets us into an atmosphere that seems to be for us as if it was the prophet himself who was preaching physically.

The testimonies from Brother Mangongolo seem to never stop. The Lord continues to vindicate the Voice that he is playing, but one of the most outstanding testimonies comes from his wife. The story of the Lord answering her prayer for a woman deeply suffering in labor, a familiar book, and faith in a prophet who once stood on African soil will post in the days to come.
