Sister Melanie works harvesting corn to help provide
enough money so her husband, Brother Mangongolo, can bring the Message
to the natives that live along the banks of the Congo River. As posted
in the previous article, the efforts of this little family have been
greatly rewarded with healings, miracles, and most importantly, the
salvation of searching souls. However, the most astounding testimony did
not come from Brother Mangongolo, it came from his wife.
The woman was in labor for the past two days and was suffering deeply. Sister
Melanie saw her agony, but there was nothing she could do. The single health
center in their village had a nurse, but no doctor. A third day passed. Time was
now growing short. Her water had long-since broken, so the lives of both the
unborn baby and the mother were in jeopardy. The nurse could do nothing more,
and the situation continued to worsen. Sister Melanie then did the only thing
she knew to do: She asked if it would be okay if she offered prayer for the
woman.
Sister Melanie’s faith was in the prophet that showed so many signs and
wonders during his ministry. She brought the book titled,
William Branham, A Prophet Visits South Africa with her. Her words
about a living God Who answers prayers encouraged the suffering woman. The two
ladies then bowed their heads, and Sister Melanie offered prayer: “Lord Jesus,
You was the One what gave us this Message, and Your prophet walked on African
soil in South Africa, and there, You performed great miracles as testified in
this book. You are the same God. Do something for this lady. I pray in Jesus
Name, Amen.” She then placed the book on the woman’s stomach, and told her, “The
God of William Branham is living, and He will do something. Just have faith.”
As soon as Sister Melanie left the room, the woman started having
contractions. She then gave birth to a stillborn child. The nurse walked out of
the delivery room and told Sister Melanie that the child was born dead. She
looked at the nurse and calmly said, “God is perfect in every way, and He will
complete what He started.”
She went back into the room, placed the same book on the dead baby, and asked
the Lord to honor the Message that she had heard on the tapes. She asked for the
same miracles that He did in Africa through the prophet, William Branham. “He
can do again what He did in this inspired book.” After prayer, she left the room
and waited nearby. Five minutes later, the baby sprang to life! The nurse rushed
to the bedside, and the baby was found to be perfectly healthy. Of course, the
lady and her husband now believe the Message and are members of the church in
their village, Maita.
