God’s Wrapped Gift

The shantytowns of Namibia are among the most destitute places in the world. Homes are made of any scraps of wood, plastic, or metal that can be fastened together for some sort of makeshift shelter from the winds and intense heat of the Namibian bush. Tuberculosis, AIDS, and malaria rampantly kill thousands. Most cannot read, and almost none have jobs. Meals are scarce. However, among the poverty, suffering, and death, there is royalty. The Message of the hour has pierced this seemingly impenetrable place, and given life to many who had no hope.

Brother Keith Herne, Brother Archie Marius (VGR Office Manager in Cape Town RSA, and VGR Librarian in Windhoek Namibia respectively), and their translator witnessed the suffering in the shanties of Namibia. They testified to the healing power of the Lord Jesus and the many Scriptures that were fulfilled in a prophet named William Branham. Because most cannot read, the brothers gladly sat beside the suffering and dying, and tirelessly read Brother Branham’s books. Many that heard the Word repented of their life’s mistakes and gave their hearts to the Lord Jesus.

One man, dying of AIDS and bedridden, stood up and walked for the first time in weeks. A spirit of hope that is so rare in this place was obvious in the sparkling eyes and bright smile of his wife. Paralyzed and suffering, a woman gave her heart to Jesus as the brothers read Brother Branham’s words. A kind-spirited woman dying of Tuberculosis sat in her chair listening to every word the brothers told her about a prophet to this generation. She brought the new books into her tiny shack and placed them on the table next to her bed. This may be the last thing she reads in this life. Another woman dying of AIDS tearfully repented as Brother Keith put down his video camera, took her hand, and led her to the Lord. A young man who received a Church Age book a week earlier was on fire for the Lord and testified of the wonderful story of St. Martin. He could barely contain himself as he witnessed to the brothers about how St. Martin’s sacrifice allowed him to see the Lord Jesus. The brothers gladly gave him more books and tracts.

Brother Keith said the following about his trip:

I wish you could have been there when I took her hand and led her to the Lord. That poor woman just started repenting in her own language and surrendered her heart to the Lord. It just breaks my heart to see the people under those conditions. Just to realize that without this Message, they don’t stand a chance.

It has been a year since Brother Keith and Brother Archie made that initial trip into the shantytowns and sent the report you just read. The woman pictured in the video, who was dying of Tuberculosis and received the Message books, is now completely healed and believes the Message with all her heart. Sister Stella testifies that the doctors gave her ten days to live when the brothers gave her that book. She and many more of these people have been baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Sister Stella received not only her health, but also her salvation, when a few men of God introduced God’s Wrapped Gift to her. She sends her gratitude.
