The Old Testament is filled with stories of how gallant men battled the powers of darkness by tearing down pagan idols and replacing them with worship of the one true God. While the enemy may be more subtle in his deception today, those idols still exist and so does the witchcraft that follows with them. The following is a testimony about a brother in Ghana who decided that he would never be tempted by his idols again.

By His Grace before service at Chiana yesterday night, there came a brother that has been absent in the church for a month now. I sent for him, and he came yesterday night for service. He was very sick of heart pains and coughing seriously. But when I asked what's the matter why has not been coming, he told me that before he believed the Message, he was a soccayer (idol worshipper), but since he believed, he left it, but was afraid to throw away the altar of the gods. He kept them in a certain room in his house. This has been a problem that kept him from church, and he didn't sleep at night. He just walked throughout the night and saw people, who he couldn’t see clearly and didn’t know who they were or where they came from. He was having problems with his brain like he was going mad.

After he finished speaking, it was time for me to go to the pulpit for my sermon, so I prayed with him and told him after church that we'll go to your house to pray and burn them gods. He accepted.

By His grace, after the sermon, the entire Church prayed for him, his wife, and his family. We went to his house; me, Pastor Simon, Brother Roland, and Brother Robert. By His grace, we entered the room where he kept the gods, and we prayed in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. We brought them gods out, read the Scripture of Acts, put dried grasses on top, and set fire to it. By the grace of God, we burnt them gods in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, as you can see in the picture. Then we went to bed.

And Glory to God, this morning the brother came to pastor Simon’s place, were I slept yester-night and testified that immediately, after we left last night, HIS BRAIN PROBLEM ENDED, COUGH STOPPED, AND HE SLEPT FREELY TILL THIS MORNING. HE IS PERFECTLY HEALED AND STRONG NOW. Then he came to tell me what God did for him and his house. I said, “Give the Lord Jesus Christ all the Glory.” So we thank God for it, and everything He has been doing in this northern Ghana for us and His own people, in His power of perfect work of healings and deliverance. HE is GOD forever and MORE, even so "Amen.”
