The so-called Doomsday Clock has never been closer to what atomic scientists call "global catastrophe." Yesterday, they moved it forward half a minute, leaving just "two minutes to midnight." The reasons? An unstable dictator in nuclear-armed North Korea bickering with the president of the United States.
Atomic scientists see the immediate threat of a nuclear holocaust and the effects that just one warhead could have on the entire world, but they probably don't know that we saw God's clock begin ticking at about that same time as they started their doomsday clock in 1947. Here are a few movements of the timepiece that are even more unnerving than an insane dictator with a "nuclear button."
Jesus told us in Matthew 24, to watch for the fig tree putting forth her leaves, which is Israel returning to her homeland. He went on to say that when we see this, "…know that it is near, even at the doors." There is now a Jewish state that contains the City of Jerusalem, the apple of God's eye.

Just before the earth is prophesied to "burn as an oven" in Malachi 4, God promised to send "Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord." As we all know very well, that sign has been fulfilled.

In Luke 17:28-30 Jesus prophesies that in the last days it would be similar to the days of Lot. Just before God rained down fire and brimstone on Sodom, Homosexuals were common, and they had a powerful voice. So much so that the mayor of the city, Lot, feared them.

The prophet saw a vision in 1933 that showed there would be egg-shaped driverless cars just before the end.

The Angel told Daniel, "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased." (Daniel 12:4) "run to and fro" is fulfilled with the advent of modern transportation, and when in history has knowledge been so readily available than in the past few years, with the development of smartphones and tablet computers? Anything we want to know, and unfortunately a lot more, is right at our fingertips.

We could go on about the signs of the times, but both scientists and Christians alike can see that the hand of the clock will soon move for the last time. Unlike the world, we look forward to that last tick, because it will be the day that we meet our Lord Jesus in the air. What a day that will be!
Look here! Do you know what the Lord says about Los Angeles and these places here? “She’s gone!” You remember what I told you, about two years ago, how that earthquake would come in Canada up here, Alaska? I also tell you that “Hollywood and Los Angeles is sliding into the ocean. California, you’re doomed! Not only California; but you, world, you’re doomed! Church, unless you get right with God, you’re doomed!” THUS SAITH THE HOLY SPIRIT!

And it anoints us when we see that we're living in the last days, to find out that all these signs that we see being taken place, that's spoke of in the Scripture, would take place in the last days; all the way from Heaven, to the political powers, and the nature of the people, and the demoralization of the world, and among the women, and how they would do in the last days, and how the men would do, and how the churches would do, how the nations would do, and how God would do. And we see it all laying right here on us.
Oh, it anoints our faith. It moves us out in the great cycles. See? It-it separates us from other things of the world. See? No matter how little we are, or how much a minority we are, how much we're laughed at, made fun of, don't make a bit of difference. That's all. We see it. There is something within us. We were predestinated to see this hour, and there is nothing going to stop us from seeing it. Amen! Here God has spoke it. It's-it's already happened. We see it. Oh, how we thank God for this! Oh, then, it brings out your faith when we see these things happening here.
