From The Archives: Decisions

We had a request to re-post this article from 2012. The testimony may be 8 years old, but the lesson is timeless.

Young man getting married, married some girl that don't believe; or some young girl marrying a boy that don't believe. Don't you do that. I don't care how cute he is, and--and, or how cute she is, and what those big eyes she's got; they'll all fade out one of these days. But, brother, your soul is going to live forever. You be careful what you're doing. She ain't a real believer, or him a real believer, don't you yoke yourself up like that. Stay away from such. It'll cause you trouble down the road.

57-0901M Hebrews Chapter 3

It’s one of the most important decisions anyone makes in their lifetime: choosing a husband or a wife. If you make the right choice, the storms of life can blow their evil breath, but your union will stand strong because it is built on the solid Foundation of the Word of God.

If you make the wrong choice, sorrow and trouble could plague all the days of your life. Yes, the choosing of a mate is very important.

We received this testimony of a young lady who first made the decision to turn her life around, and then the Lord Jesus gave her the desire of her heart.

God sent me my husband by name

I grew up in the Message but had backslidden. Labor Day was approaching and I decided to attend some special meetings in Georgia. I knew I needed to give my life back to God. When I returned, I asked my boyfriend of four years if he believed William Branham was a prophet and he replied that it was a cult. I told him he just made my decision easy for me. I gave my notice at work, leaving everything behind to moved 1,600 miles back home, rededicating my life to God.

When I arrived home, I suffered from deep depression, crying myself to sleep every night, having no one to encourage or comfort me. Leaving my friends and what I thought was my dream job, I felt extremely lost and alone. I arrived home and while driving to my brother’s office a few days later, I struck up a heartfelt conversation with God. I knew I would be unable to fully surrender my life to God while dating an unbeliever. I began speaking to Him about my situation. I cried out to Him saying, “God, I’m tired of dating guys that aren’t right for me – why won’t you send me my husband? You said in your Word, ‘it’s not good for man to be alone’ and you gave Adam – Eve. Well, Where’s my Adam? God, send me my Adam!”

Exactly one week later, God answered my prayer. Not only did He send me my husband, He went the extra mile to send me “my Adam.” My husband's name is ADAM! Talk about God making Himself real to you! He couldn’t send me my husband until I was ready to give everything up for Him and make my stand for His Word. He restored everything I had given up ten-fold…

To top it off, God not only saved my husband from the world, God also saved his mother, (a previously devout Catholic) and is now sharing the Message with the rest of her family!
