Vista 64 and Windows 7 (64-bit) and The Table
The Table is not fully compatible with Vista 64 or Windows 7 64-bit). The latest version The Table 2005 has many problems
to overcome before it will work so, We recommend that you hold off purchasing Windows 7 64-bit.
There are three basic problems that apply to both operating systems and a fourth problem that only applies to Windows 7 64-bit.
-
Folio Views in the 2005 version of the Table is not compatible with any 64-bit Windows
and will give an "Unable to open the InfoBase" error.
Workaround: email support@branham.org and we will mail you a DVD update that will allow
the search engine to work. We will need your street address.
-
Church Age Book and Bible audio does not play, because the DSP drivers are missing from Vista and Windows 7.
Workaround: download the Truespeech DSP drivers to your desktop, and then install them. The Bible and Exposition audio will play after
you reboot your computer.
You can get the drivers here: TrueSpeech Drivers
-
The Player is unable to find the sermons after they have been loaded, and continues to ask
you to insert the Disc.
Workaround: Add the correct path to the files in the Audio Player.
Details: Disc 2 through Disc 18 will probably install to the C:\Program Files 86\Voice of God Recordings\The Table 2003\MP3\
Add this path to the Audio Player by opening the Main App and clicking on the "Options" tab.
Then Click on the "Path Information" tab, and click "Add."
Add the correct path to the MP3 files.
-
Problems with the player freezing when playing long tapes, or multiple tapes in a row. (This problem is only for Windows 7)
Workaround: Reboot machine as needed, or use iTunes or Media player to play the audio.
Details: The audio player will "lock-up" while playing a sermon and require a reboot of your
computer. This will happen sometime between 5 and 17 hours of play time. 64-bit Windows actually
seems to run better than the 32 bit version, but we have not been able to get the Audio Player
to function flawlessly in either Version. The problem seems to be in a subsystem we cannot fix.
Note: Testing with running the Table with Windows 7 Pro in special virtual "XP Mode" has
been successful so far, and has not crashed on us yet. This mode is only available on Windows
Professional or Ultimate and only works on certain machines with Intel VT
or AMD-V hardware virtualization technology enabled in the PC BIOS.
If you choose this option, please check carefully with your vendor that XP mode
will work on your hardware. This mode is not available on most consumer grade machines.
This will not work with Windows 7 Home Premium.
We recommend that you hold off purchasing Windows 7 64-bit until further notice from us.
We are working on the problems, and as we know more we will post this information on our web site.
Many of the more technical users are switching to Windows 7 64-bit knowing they have the skills to
deal with the problems and differences in the Operating Systems. VGR can not recommend the new OS
until we are ready to support it for everyone.
