Under the direction of the Spanish Crown, Fray Tomás de Berlanga, the fourth Bishop of Panama, sailed to Peru to settle a dispute between Francisco Pizarro (Spanish Conquistador and conqueror of the Incan Empire) and his lieutenants. De Berlanga's vessel drifted off course when the winds diminished, and his party reached the Galapagos Islands on March 10, 1535.

The islands were used as a hideout for pirates until the early 19th century. The pirates would attack ships carrying gold and silver from South America to Spain, and then use the remote and little known islands as a hideout.

In 1832, the islands were annexed by Ecuador. Then a few years later, the famous naturalist Charles Darwin did his initial research on the geology and biology of a few of the Galapagos Islands. We all know where his research led, making the Galapagos Islands renown for the inspiration of Darwin’s theories of evolution. Because you are reading this article on this website, you may have guessed that there is something far more important about these islands than a theory on how to remove God from creation.

Within the small population of people who call the Galapagos Islands their home, there are a few that believe the Message of the hour. Brother Alberto Luque, VGR Distributor in Ecuador, recently traveled to the Galapagos to visit the believers there and make sure they have everything they need from VGR (Spanish is the official language). During his visit, a sister shared the following testimony of her healing. This is part of Brother Luque’s report.

One sister offered to share the testimony of her recent healing. Sister Fanny felt much pain in her back, so she left the island to the city of Riobamba. The doctor examined her and told her that she had a cyst of 36 millimetres in her left kidney. Then she went to the city of Azogues in the Province of Canar, where she was hospitalized. After the scans and ultrasounds, the doctors determined that she indeed had a cyst there. They suggested an operation but the sister believed in her heart that she did not need the operation as “He carried all of our diseases.” She signed the papers that dismissed the doctors from all responsibility.

Then, she prepared to come back to the island but her family urged her to go again to Riobamba and to take another ultrasound. She did this, but this time there was no cyst in her kidney. Praise God! The Lord Jesus honoured her faith and healed her from this growth.

I read the medical report, and they were astonished and had no explanation on what happened in the course of those few days. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hallelujah, amen!
