They have been baptized in a pool used to
store carbide. They received the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ there, and
because of the carbide remains in the pool after the baptisms, some of them
suffered burns in their skin and soles of their feet.
When the time for the visit finished, the brothers were very sad to say good
bye. They sent greetings to Brother Joseph, Brother Billy Paul, the employees at
VGR, and the believers who support this work. They said they will be praying and
asked me to tell you that these love letters from God, the Message of the Hour,
are crossing the gates of this jail through the hands of the Vazquez brothers.
One of the things that surprised Brother Eladio very much was that he
received an offering from the inmates for the work of VGR. This help from them
was especially sweet, knowing the needs inside a jail and that every favor has a
price in that place. This speaks of a renounce to some privileges because of the
love to the work of God.
The prisoner brothers thanked the jail officials for allowing Brother Eladio
to visit them. The officials also thanked Brother Eladio for his help to the
inmates. Later, the brothers told Brother Vazquez that the officers were
satisfied with Brother Eladio’s behavior while in the jail. This was true
because during all the meeting and fellowship of the brothers with the
prisoners, the guards were closely watching them.
On Wednesday morning, Brother Vazquez and Brother Eladio had in mind to go
and visit the relatives of one of the prisoners in a near by city. They arrived
at that city to visit the sister of one of the believers in jail. She and her
husband are denominational Christians who had visited her brother in jail last
Sunday and had the chance to hear Brother Vazquez speaking about Brother
Branham’s life. During that time, even some denominational ministers came closer
to hear about this. Only this couple heard and believed what they heard. They
were so happy that morning when they saw the brothers coming to their humble
house (a house that the government had given them).
This precious couple urged the visitors to go and see other relatives that
lived at about 30 blocks from there in a very bad neighborhood full of crime and
delinquents. They went there and received such a welcome that they started an
improvised service. First, they watched the “A Prophet’s Hometown” video. Then,
they prayed and received an invitation to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as their
Saviour. All the people in the meeting gave their hearts to our Lord and
Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Later that afternoon they went to visit a small Message church in the area.
At about 7:00 p.m. the service started in this humble church, and they
watched also the “A Prophet’s Hometown” video. Then Brother Eladio spoke about
the translation and distribution work and he gave the greetings from Brother
Joseph Branham and the believers who support this work.
The next day, Brother Vazquez, Brother Jimenez and Brother Eladio went to the
jail again, but they were stopped because of a high-profile trial going on that
day. They took the opportunity to take pictures of the city.
Later that afternoon, when Brother Eladio was preparing everything to return
home, one of the believers from prison came to Brother Vazquez’s house. He had
just been released and was very happy. He came straight from jail to see them
and present himself to the service of the work in anything he could help in the
prison work.
All of them accompanied Brother Eladio to the bus terminal. There, we found
many of the believers we had met during our visit. They stayed with us until the
bus departed the Tucuman terminal.
All the believers said good bye, asking Brother Eladio to return soon to see
them. Days after this, a brother told Brother Eladio on the phone that Brother
Vazquez stayed in the bus terminal for about an hour testifying of the Lord
right there to the public.
This is all I can report from the trip for the glory of the Lord and by His
grace.
May God bless you and thank you very much!
Greetings to you brothers and friends,
Ruben Osvaldo Reymundi
