CTV Update: Brother Tshibangu's report

The following is Brother Tshibangu's report of his recent missionary trip up the Congo River.

We began the trip in a merchandise boat. We were like merchandise under canvas cover. It took two days to reach Bumba, our first stop.

We spent two days with our church in Bumba. We sent greetings from Brother Joseph to the church, and we asked all the brothers to listen directly to Brother Branham’s sermons through tapes.

We left Bumba and went down to Lisala, where we have been received by Pastor Manze. We again sent greetings from Brother Joseph Branham. We preached for two weeks there and during our visit, we prayed for an anemic child, and the Lord Jesus Christ healed him 10 minutes after.

From Lisala, we went upstream on the Congo River into the jungles (where live our Pygmy brothers, called “natives” by Brother Branham). We were able to talk to Pygmies from Yakono and Yeyimbo, in the Bososimba territory in Bongandanga, district of “La Mongala,” Province of Equator, DRC. We told them about the work of VGR, and they received it well.

All these native brothers are behind VGR and the work. We traveled on rowing pirogues, and it was hard. We distributed VGR books to them. From there, we went back to Yakata. At Pastor Ambroise Mongwagbala’s place, we held meetings.

They woke us up at 1:00am to travel in a little pirogue. We traveled from Yakata to Mongana where we arrived at 6:30am. Once again, it was hard. Here are the pictures of the pirogue, the trip, Pygmies and their tabernacle. Considering the difficulties of traveling on the Congo river, with rowing pirogues, we ask for the possibility to get an outboard motor 40HP for the Province of “Equateur” and “Orientale” to be able to easily reach the believers living near the Congo River.

We arrived in Mongana, at Pastor Stanis Bamoka’s place. We held meetings there and then went to Bososimba, to hold meetings at Pastor Samuel Embulungu’s church. The 76 churches of this area follow VGR and the work accomplished, and they are asking for tape players to listen to Brother Branham.

After Bososimba, we passed through Linkoyi to reach Bobende, where we have been received by Pastor Bolangi, and we greeted them from VGR. There, more than 10 churches joined the work.

From Bobende, we went to Lisala navigating in a pirogue. We finally arrived at destination at 8:00pm, after three hours of navigation. It was hard, but the Lord Jesus supported us.

In Lisala, we were in Loso, in Pastor Gérard’s Church, where the greetings from Brother Joseph and VGR made everyone happy.

We then went back to Bumba where we held a meeting at VGR-Bumba’s Office.

From Bumba, we traveled to Aketi, where VGR-Aketi representative received us. We gave them greetings from Brother Joseph and VGR, and we held a pastors' meeting. The Aketi office is asking for megaphones and tape recorders to play the tapes of Brother Branham. We left Aketi to go to Buta. The VGR-Buta representative was hospitalized, so we worked at the office with the sister who helps him.

In Buta, we held a meeting. We distributed the French CTV newspaper 2002-2003. They learned about the Work done by VGR, and they decided to take VGR books and tapes.

This office needs tape recorders and audio tapes to listen to Brother Branham, and also megaphones. In the area of Bumba, Aketi, and Buta, the roads are in very bad condition. We left Buta to go to Banalia where we met Pastor Josaphat Likunda as well as sister churches.

This pastor already built a place to shelter the VGR office. After meeting him, we thought it was a necessity to request a library in this area to serve all the churches on the Banalia route.

If the office in Banalia is approved, it would be a salvation for many souls. This pastor accommodated us for lodging and food. He also contributed to our trip to Kisangani. We left Banalia and arrived in Kisangani at 4:30pm.

May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you and support you by His Scripture of Luke 12:32 Amen!

Your humble servant
