“I thought, ‘Sir, that's true, a lot of it. But I want to ask you something. You said Paul went into a city and had one convert, went back the next year and had thirty from that one.’ What did Paul do? He led them to the Fountain, not just by shaking hands and putting their name on a book, not by making some kind of confession and promising you'll do better, but stay there until you are dead and your life is hid in God through Christ and sealed by the Holy Ghost.
60-0306 It Wasn’t So From The Beginning
A few years ago, a believer named Elio carried the Light of the Gospel to an Argentina city. He tried to witness to the people of that city, but his words fell on deaf ears. Brother Eladio Silva, VGR Assistant Distributor in Argentina, tells the story of that one man being joined by another believer. Then, the two witnessed to another.
About a year passed after Brother Elio came from the north of Argentina to work in Rio Gallegos. During this time, he looked for the support and communication with the brothers at the Voice of God Recordings office in Argentina to find fellowship in his new city.
Many times he tried to speak about the Message with other people, but he did not find anybody to have fellowship with.
A few weeks ago, a pastor from Soberbio, called the VGR office in Argentina asking for a Message church in Rio Gallegos. In that occasion we told him that the church in Rio Gallegos had only one member and gave him the name of Brother Elio and his phone number. The purpose of all this was that a brother named Ruben from Soberbio could have contact with other believers and a place to fellowship as he was relocated to Rio Gallegos because of his job, thousands of miles from his home.
When Brother Elio learned that Brother Ruben was there in Rio Gallegos, he quickly tried to contact the brother, so they could meet and work together for the Lord. It was a wonderful meeting, just as two old friends that did not see each other for a long time.
The story continues. As both brothers started testifying about the Message, they had the first baptism in Rio Gallegos. Brother Nicolas Ruiz of 65 years old was led to the Lord in the cold waters of the Argentinean Sea in the coasts of Rio Gallegos. Both brothers were very happy with this wonderful thing. How God moved two humble brothers from two far away points of Argentina to carry His work forward.
You can see the pictures of this so special moment.
May God bless you!
