Three Small Churches in Mozambique

Many witnessed the testimonies from Brother Saidi (VGR office manager in Malawi) and Brother John (missionary in Malawi) at the Easter Open House. One of the testimonies they told was of a recent trip to northern Mozambique. The following is Brother Saidi’s report of this successful and dangerous missionary journey. It started by crossing a swollen river in an unstable canoe, and ended in delivering the Message of the hour to the waiting hands of the predestinated of God.

Brother Saidi’s report:

The Voice of the Prophet on radio Waves invades part of Mozambique.

The tape boy (Brother John) with his radio program continues to win many hundreds of hungry souls. Since last December three churches in one of the Mozambique districts that borders Malawi, have been able to catch radio waves from Malawian radio station Power 101. The Mozambique believers form small groups in the night and gather around the radio when the Message of the prophet is played on one of our local radios.

Eventually the people in Mozambique made a decision and called Brother John for a baptismal service. Immediately the man was on his way. Whilst there, he baptized 172 members; all from the three main churches that are in that part of Mozambique. Since that time Brother John had been requesting me to go and distribute Chichewa books and also to give them an MP3 player. In March 2009, together with Brother John, I started off to Mozambique to fulfill the commitment.

We started off on quite a rainy day and the roads were in bad shape; we just had to go as the believers in Mozambique were expecting us. We left the vehicle on the Malawi side and crossed two rivers into Mozambique. The first river, Ruo, was full with water extending beyond its banks, we waited for almost three hours but waters would not subside. Trusting that the wonderful Lord would deliver us, we started to cross the river and Hallelujah! We managed.

God was so kind the boat crossed the river within a few minutes, after that we walked for hours. It was tough but the Lord provided the strength. Finally we crossed the second river that was calm by now and we arrived at the church.

The believers there were so excited to see the books and the MP3 player for the first time in their lifetime, and because we were late, we just went straight into the service. The singing and worship was just beyond description. I was personally humbled to see the excitement that the Message of the Prophet William Branham has brought to the hearts of these helpless people of Mozambique. At the end of the service the pastor of this local assembly requested that I come again and visit the other churches.

My last remark, believing the Message of the prophet just by listening to his Voice broadcast on the radio is not a fluke. I believe these people really know what they’re doing, and most of them are well advanced in age. I thank God that the Voice of God on the tapes aired on a radio station from a neighboring country can have so much impact on people’s lives.
