Unrest In Zimbabwe

Please go to prayer for Zimbabwe and the believers in that country.

President Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe president or prime minister since 1980, has been placed under house arrest by the Zimbabwe military. The military has taken control of government operations, stating they are going to arrest politicians “who are committing crimes that are causing social and economic suffering in the country.” They go on to say, “As soon as we have accomplished our mission, we expect that the situation will return to normalcy.”

The situation now seems to have settled down and is calm in the capitol city of Harare. There are troops manning roadblocks and controlling the state broadcasting station. We have been in contact with our office staff, who report that all is well with the believers as far as they can tell.

Zimbabwe is home to more than 50 thousand believers, many of whom live in Harare. We are also aware of some believers from the United States visiting that country. They are reportedly safe at the present time.

We know that our Lord has all things in His Hands, but we certainly request that you lift up the believers there in your prayers.
