A Stand For Him

19 ...take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.

20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

Matthew 10:19-20

One thing we should always do is stand for this Word. We can think of the day that our Lord stood for all of us in Pilate’s hall, bloodied, beaten, bruised, mocked. Many of us say, “If I was there, I would have stood for Him.” When the howling mob was shouting, “Crucify Him”, we proclaim that we would have been the one calling, “What has He done?”

Yet today, we have the same opportunities. The boss that takes the Lord’s Name in vain, the associate who ridicules God’s Word, or even a family member who needs a little encouragement. How do we stand for Him? Jesus sometimes sits with dirty feet still today.

Let’s not let Him sit there anymore, let’s stand for Him whenever we have the chance. He will ALWAYS be there to stand with us. All we have to do is open the door.

I wanted to share a testimony that our Lord is still the same yesterday, today and forever. I pray this will bless maybe one person who is fighting the enemy that is going about more than ever as a roaring lion. He always stands with us.

I grew up in the Message and God called me at young age. He set me apart, and though I grew up with good friends, nominal Christians, I never really felt like I belonged in that crowd. I tried to always associate with the right people; so many times religion would come up in our conversation.

I remember this particular time I was at a lunch with my friends where the discussion came up about God and whether He was real. The conversation went back and forth, some questioning if God is on the scene, and some were halfway convinced that God still cares, others were questioning their faith in what their church taught them. A few were even questioning whether there was a God in existence at all.

I didn’t say much in the beginning, instead just listening and taking it all in. After seeing where this was going, I waited for something that He might want me to say to help them. I prayed in myself, asking the Lord to help me.

As the conversation progressed, I felt something on the inside of the inside rise up within me. Without taking thought to it, I said,

“I am more sure that God is alive and with me, than I am sure that I am sitting at this table eating lunch with you all at this moment.”

Well, that must have been the right thing to say, and maybe pleased the Holy Spirit, because after I said that, His presence moved down. It’s that presence that is unmistakable. And though many of my friends, up until that moment, might not have ever felt that real presence of our God; He was there and they recognized it. It was silent, and I knew He was there. The conversation just seemed to be settled, and it was with that statement nothing else could be said. It was a moment that has been etched in mind for years.

I thank the Lord it was a chance to stand for Him, as He has always stood for me. I have noticed in my life there is never a time when He is not there to stand for His Word, no matter the opposition, no matter the place, or the time.

I hope this will encourage someone who may be facing opposition in friends, or even a mom or dad, sister or brother; to stand for this Message and the Lord Jesus Christ, I am a witness He will always stand for us. The God that we serve, the God that was resurrected after three days, the God we saw manifested in our day through a prophet, and the God that is manifesting Himself through us, His church, is alive and well.

Take courage little Bride, it can’t be much longer. I pray He stands for me on that Day and I look forward to meeting you there, by His grace.
