This testimony started on December 31, 2014. We left Grand-Lahou to go to Ebounou (Petit-Lahou) for a year-end meeting, a distance of about 50 miles (82km).
On our way to Ebounou, the Lord in His grace, protected us all along the journey and we had no problem. We were really blessed during the service. Brother Jean Gangniwé, our pastor, spoke at the end and his message was really preparing us for the New Year, saying: "There is no coincidence, what the Lord has planned for us will certainly happen, for all things work together for good to those who love the Lord."
With these words, the service finished at about 7:30 the next morning with water baptism. At least 10 people got baptized and gave their life to the Lord.
On the return trip, at about 9:00, I noticed my motorcycle tire was deflated. I then decided to leave ahead of the group in order to repair my tire. Barely after 1.2 mile (2 km), the motorcycle engine stopped completely. I needed to find a vehicle to carry my motorcycle and drive for 10 miles (16 km) to get it fixed. After waiting for an hour, the vehicle transporting the brothers and sisters showed up. They were all in that truck on its way to Grand-Lahou. We climbed on board and decided to wait upon our arrival in Grand-Lahou to repair the motorcycle.
The Lord wanted me and my wife to be in this vehicle to witness the miracle God was about to perform.
I noticed on the way that the brakes were not working properly. There was also a lot of noise because of the damaged tailpipe.
We were 7.5 miles (12 km) from Grand-Lahou when we had to go down a hill and then cross a bridge. Suddenly, trying to avoid a pothole, the driver lost control of the vehicle because the brakes were not functioning anymore. The truck went off the road, and was heading toward a ravine. When we saw the drop where we were going, we begged for God’s grace, crying out, “Lord save us!”
The vehicle did a first roll over, and just when we were to do a second one, which would have been deadly, a tree stopped the truck.
Our God protected us, for all of us on board, brothers, sisters and children, a total of 21 people, nobody got hurt!
Some of the brothers and sisters that were on the truck.
I wondered and asked myself many times since then, what was that tree doing there? I remembered then a statement from Brother Branham in the message Victory Day 63-0421, "That tree was put there for a purpose. Everything is for a purpose. It's got to serve." This is the truth!
The Lord protected us from that accident on January 1, 2015, by His pure grace.
