He Answered

With an unemployment rate pushing 30%, a career in a well-paying job in South Africa is often difficult to find. Brother Isaacs completed his training, but he did not trust in his own merits to land a career; he trusted in the grace of God and the prayers of the saints. We originally heard from Brother Isaacs earlier this year, and we are excited to report that our brother's prayers and the prayers of those who read his article have been answered! Here is his testimony.

In 2019, I made a decision to trust in God. My faith was greatly affected by the biblical story of Abraham. Upon becoming obsessed by the events that transpired in Abraham’s life when he was an old man, no children and no legacy, God gave promise to Abraham that He would make Abraham a father of nations.

One thing I realized was that when God makes a promise, then that promise has already been fulfilled. It only takes time on our side to see it manifest, but to God it is as good as done because God cannot lie nor promise what He cannot fulfill.

I read in the Bible that if a man does not work then he must not eat. If God makes a promise then He must surely make a way, right? So then I was entitled to a job in order to eat. And I had spent four years of my life learning a skill which I had to use, but I couldn’t find a job. How? I told myself that God has provided a job for me, and I wrote to the team at VGR about my conviction.

My story was posted on the website and that compelled me to keep on believing, not knowing where this job opportunity would come from. I received a call this year in May, 2019, asking me to come for an interview and testing on aluminum welding.

I had never welded on aluminum before except once back in 2016 for my trade test, and only once! I passed the interview and test, then I was hired for the position. I worked for the month of June, 2019 for a minimum pay, but that did not matter because I received what I longed for, employment.

The following month, July 2019, I had another company call me for an interview and testing also on aluminum. I passed the interview and transferred to the new company in July, 2019, and that is where I am today.

They tell me that I am one of the best aluminum welders the company has ever hired, and I am there now by God’s grace.

Thank you for the time taken to read this letter. To the Bride of Christ, God is faithful and true. His promises are sure, they might take time on our side because we want things now. However, they will come to fulfilment in God’s appointed time.

Yours truly,

Brother Isaacs
