When reading Suzanna's testimony about the baby chick reminded me of mine and my granddaughter, Andrea's, experience. About four or five years ago we had bought seven baby chicks.
The next morning, I went out early to check on them, and one had died. It looked as though it had been dead a while, just limp and flat.
Then she went out with me very upset that "Apple Blossom" had died. I told her we would have to bury it, but she said, “No, we have to pray for it.”
So, we did, but it still laid there just flat for the next four hours. Several times I would tell her it must be God's Will for it to go, and we should bury it. And each time I said that, it's little leg jerked and she would say, "No, it moved we can't bury it." This happened four or five times, but still just flat and no heartbeat. My husband told her he would take her and get another baby chick, because we couldn't have six (not a good number).
Before she left she got a little box, put in some soft wood chips, water and feed, and laid her in it. They left to get another one while I watched over her. She was laying with her head hanging way over backwards, so I pushed her over a little (looked more comfortable) and she stood up! In about five minutes she was eating and drinking and chirping! And this was after four hours of lying FLAT, dead as she could be!
So, of course when she got home with number eight, she said I told you she would be alright!
We all need that childlike faith.
Thanking Him,
Sister Mary Walker
