Smiles

We post testimonies a few times a month on this website. Some of those testimonies give faith to be healed, others teach us valuable lessons, and then there are a few that make you sit back in your chair and smile. This is one of those testimonies.

This is both a testimony and a prayer request for the Bride. I had something happened to me today that I am so thankful for, and so blessed for, and feel that only God could do.

I had to do a lot of driving for my work today. I spent a lot of time praising, singing, and worshipping the Lord as I drove. One song in particular that I was really blessed singing was the song, “Trust and Obey for there's no better way to be happy in Jesus than to trust and obey.” My wife and I also had been rejoicing because of the Quote Of The Day had spoken directly to us about a matter.

I was driving along in the east Arkansas Delta, just singing and praising the Lord as I approach the city of Pine Bluff. I glanced into my rearview mirror, and to my dismay there were blue lights flashing. I thought “oh no” and pulled the car to the side of the road. A big tall officer got out and approached my car, and asked me if I knew that I was speeding when I came through his town.

I apologized and told him, “No, I did not.” Like Brother Branham told us, I just told him the truth and told him that I had been singing and praising the Lord, and didn't realize the speed limit had changed. Evidently it went from 55 to 35 in this tiny little town. He took my license and went to his car, and stayed there for a while. He finally returned and abruptly came to my window and said, “I'm giving you a citation for going 48 in a 35.” He told me to sign the ticket, and I asked him if there was any way that he could just give me a warning, as I hadn't had a ticket in many years. He told me that he could not because I was going so far over the limit. We discussed a couple of other things, and I apologized again and drove away. I went from elation to deflation.

I really couldn't afford a ticket, I did not know what it would do to my insurance rates, plus I was driving a rental car and did not know if I would be affected by that. We were of the opposite race, and I wondered in my mind if he may have been being hard on me because of all the civil unrest that has been going on. I was busy fretting and pouting to myself as I was driving along, when I looked in my rearview mirror again, and BAM there were blue lights again! I thought it may have been a state trooper pulling me over, as I was unconsciously driving and thinking about the ticket. Was I speeding again?

As I pulled over to the side, the officer pulled his cruiser up next to mine and rolled down his window. It was the same officer that had pulled me over before! “Give me that ticket,” he exclaimed. “Excuse me, sir,” I replied. “Give me that ticket,” he repeated. “I'm going to delete that ticket for you,” he stated. I handed him the tickets through the window and took his hand in both of my hands and exclaimed, "My Brother!” Tears welled up in my eyes as I thanked him and walked back to my car. The presence of the Lord was so near. I turned to him and said, “I will be praying for you.” He said, "You do that,” and drove away.

I can't help but wonder what caused him to do that. I've never heard of an officer pulling someone over to take a ticket away from them. What a blessing! It can only be the Blessed Holy Spirit. I believe it was the atmosphere of God that stirred his dear heart after he pulled away that caused him to chase me down. I don't know his name but our Father does. Would you please pray a special blessing on this pure-hearted brother behind a badge in Arkansas for his kindness to the Bride?
