Smiles

It just goes to show that God is interested, no matter, insignificant, how little, how big, He’s interested in all. His nature… So if our churches are little, whether they’re large, whether you’re a lay member, whether you’re a housewife, whether you’re… Whatever you are, God knows and He’s interested in you, and in what you’re doing for Him. That is true. So we are happy this morning, to know that we serve a God like that. Now, I got my income tax papers laying down here at the post office, closes I think, at eleven o’clock this morning, so I can’t preach over three hours, I’m sure. So you forgive me for my foolishness, I suppose. But even God has a sense of humor, you know, so—so we…

We hope this mother’s testimony will put a smile on your face today.

Thank you for all the work you all do. I love to read all the testimonies on here and on Lifeline. It's such a blessing to me!

As I read the article titled "Smiles," I was reminded of something that happened to us a few years ago. Every summer, I sign up my children into our library summer reading club to encourage them to continue reading throughout the summer months while we are off school.

Our library has it set up so that every book they read, they can put their name on a little piece of paper and put it in the box of their choice in hopes of winning that item. The more books they read, the more times their name is entered for the prize.

This year my oldest son wanted to win, as one of the prizes was a Lego set. He's always loved Legos! So, they did as they've always done in the past and praying before slipping the paper with their name on it into the box.

At the end of the summer, my oldest told us several times that he knew he was going to win that Lego set just as he had won another set the previous year. Well, the day the library would be drawing out the name of the winner, my oldest said that morning he would be getting a call from the library that day. He just knew he was going to win that set! There was no doubt or hesitation in his voice. And sure enough, he got that call! As soon as the phone rang, we saw the number, and it was the library!

I answered, and they said they were calling for my oldest son just as a courtesy call to remind him he had some material that would be due soon. After I hung up, my son had to chuckle at that. He said, "Well, I forgot Brother Branham says God has a sense of humor. God answered my prayer just as I had asked. I did ask Him for the library to call me today, but I forgot to ask him for the library to call, saying I had won the Lego set."

We all had to chuckle at that. We were thankful for his attitude with it all. But now he's always remembered after that and goes into a little more detail in his prayers. I thank the Lord for He always knows just what we need and when we need it. My son received the Lego set a few months later as a gift from a family member. God is good!
