We are finally receiving news of the welfare of the Message believers in Haiti. There are about 15,000 believers in Haiti. The VGR main representative, Brother Guy Cantave, and his family are well. Another VGR representative, Bro. Tanis, and his family are also safe. We were fearful for the life of Bro. Guy Lamothe, pastor of the largest church in Haiti. We were also fearful for the fate of his congregation of about 2,000 believers, because both he and his congregation are located in an area where the earthquake hit with devastating results. But thank God, we received news that both Bro. Lamothe and all the members of his church are safe, although some were injured in the earthquake. Bro. Conserve, pastor of another large Message church in Port-au-Prince, and his congregation are also reported to be safe. Even with the good news, the harsh reality is there are thousands of believers who have lost their homes, businesses, and possibly loved ones who were not Message believers. Our contacts in Haiti mentioned that as of now only one believer, a precious sister from Bro. Conserve's church, was killed during the earthquake.

Even before this earthquake, Haiti was one of the most poverty-stricken countries in the world. Now, with devastation everywhere and the threat of starvation looming on the horizon, the people are becoming desperate. We are now lifting up our prayers to Heaven and calling upon the Lord Jesus to place His protective Hand upon the Haitian Bride, and send us Haitian believers who can help distribute the much-needed supplies to their fellow members of the Bride of Christ.

We have started the difficult process of locating Haitian brothers who know the area and are able to assist us in the distribution of the resources we will be sending to help get the believers through this desperate time. We call out to the Bride of Christ throughout the world to join us in prayer for our brothers and sisters in Haiti. Our trust is not in the Red Cross or other humanitarian organizations; our trust is in the Holy Spirit.

We have been contacted by numerous believers asking to help by sending donations or used clothing. It is not possible for us to send clothing, but Brother Joseph has set up a separate fund for those who have the burden to financially contribute to the effort. We sincerely ask all who read this article to pray for the Haitian Bride.
