When you genuinely love someone, you enjoy their company. You like talking with them, learning about their experiences, and telling your own stories. If you have a need, you can always count on that person to be there for you. And sometimes, you just want a little of their time.
The following testimony is about an old Friend who worked it out so He and His loved one could have a little time of fellowship.
My wife had a 6:30 AM flight to see her mom for Mother's day. After entering the airport and coming back to the car, I could hear a very loud clicking every time the wheel rotated. After paying at the short term parking booth, I pulled over to see what was clicking. Somehow a 1/8 inch metal rod (about the diameter of a nail) had penetrated the tire, and bent over, and was clicking. I had a hard time but I finally pulled it out. I did not want to get on the expressway with that in the tire, for if I was going to have a flat it would be better off road. I figured if it penetrated the tire, I would be doing a tire change right then and there...
I figured right. I began to pull out all the necessary tools for the change and jacked up the car. As I got to the last lug bolt, it was an anti-theft bolt and needed a special lug remover. I went to grab it from where it should have been in a styrofoam container kept with the spare tire, but it wasn’t there. I took every tool there was in the container out and shook the container upside down…no lug remover.
I put the tools back into the container, picked up the plastic lug nut covers laying on the pavement and put them in there too. I put the lug nuts in the back of the car and put the jack handle on the front seat. I then realized it was only 5:45 AM. It was too early to call anyone I knew with a similar car so I could borrow the tool. I started tearing the car apart inside the driver and passenger compartment, hoping maybe it was in the glove box or side door compartments…nothing.
My wife had the tires rotated and balanced several months back and I was very confident she had no idea about any special tools to remove the tire lugs, so I knew she wouldn’t have checked after the work was completed to see if it was there. I didn’t either. I also kept an eye on the cars paying to come out of the airport parking lot, hoping to flag down a similar vehicle. Only a few vehicles came out at that time and none matched mine.
All the while I felt at peace. I guess I even laughed a little not knowing why I had to deal with this situation but I knew it was for my good. I talked to our Father all the while. I called information and got the number to Sam’s Club where we bought the tires and where most recently the tires were rotated. I just figured they forgot to put it back in the trunk. I then also got the number to a local car dealer where the vehicles are sold.
I checked my watch…6:30. I tried and called Sam’s anyway. Someone answered and told me the tire people wouldn’t be in until 7AM. I told her my situation and she was very sympathetic and kind. My thought was to have a friend pick up the tool from Sam’s and bring it to me. I have great friends who love the Lord and the Message of the hour and would definitely do that for me. How blessed I am. I just sat on the back of the car and kept talking to Father.
Peace and joy filled my heart despite my minor inconvenient situation. I was going to call Sam’s Club back when I decided to dump the plastic lug covers out of the styrofoam container to make sure one hadn’t rolled away unnoticed. (I hadn’t counted them when I first put them in.) As I dumped out the lug covers, out came the special tool from their midst. I was so awe struck I couldn’t make a sound. I could only put my head down and thank Him for His Mercy and Grace to me. As my heart swelled within my chest I got on my knees and kept thanking Him as I changed the tire. I just love Him so much. I hope this might bless someone… I’ll never forget it.
