Over the years, thousands of believers have walked through our front doors to tour the VGR building. It is always a blessing to see their reaction to the different aspects of the work that the Lord has placed before us here in Jeffersonville.
One sister from Africa was watching intently as the brothers were preparing to start the giant web press. She broke down into tears when the gears engaged and the paper started rolling through the machine.
Two representatives from Oral Roberts University were touring and were especially touched by something the tour guide said. They were discussing how there are so many different beliefs in the world, and people’s attitudes are often pretty poor towards other faiths. The tour guide responded, “It is better to be wrong in your doctrine and right in your heart, than right in your doctrine and wrong in your heart.” The two men were astounded. “Are you a theologian?” One of them asked, “Because that is one of the most profound things I have ever heard.” The VGR brother just smiled and said, “Nope, Brother Branham said that.” They said that they were going to bring what he said back to Oral Roberts University and teach it to their classes.
Most people are especially intrigued with the memorabilia area, where some of Brother Branham’s personal belongings are on display. One sister seemed to smile a little brighter when the tour guide explained the envelopes and letters on display, with writing across some of the envelopes. He said, “Many people sent Brother Branham personal questions. He would read the letter, and write the answer on the outside of the envelope. Then the secretary would place the original envelope and letter inside another envelope, and mail it back to the person. That way, they got their question back with their answer.” The sister that was intently listening to the explanation responded, “That’s what he did when he answered my question. He wrote the answer right across the front of the envelope.” She then quietly said, “But the original envelope was never opened.”
A local to Jeffersonville, who had just received some books and tapes of Brother Branham and wanted more, decided to pay us a visit on the Saturday before Easter, a couple years ago. He patiently waited in the line outside the front doors for more than an hour, then shook Brother Billy’s and Brother Joseph’s hand on his way inside the building, before walking up to a VGR employee wearing a name tag. He looked very confused, and proceeded to explain that he had recently heard of the prophet William Branham, and... “What’s going on here? I just want to get some more books.”
Yes, we always appreciate having guests here in Jeffersonville, no matter if they are seasoned veterans or just curious about what we do. Over 3,000 visitors came from the following states and foreign countries to visit us here in Jeffersonville over the past year (this does not include the week of Easter).
