Smiles

We receive wonderful testimonies every day of how the Lord is blessing believers around the world. He answers our prayers, both large and small. Here are a few short excerpts that we think will put a smile on your face.

A chicken was hit with a rock and later died. After a while the brothers started thinking what could be the situation. One of them told to his younger brother to pray for the raising of the dead chicken. They did it and the hen raised up, and it was a great joy, and people of the neighborhood could not understand this God we worship.

I have two fishes. One is named Goldcoin and the other is Silverdollar. Normally, if one is sick, I pray and all is well, but this time Silverdollar was at the bottom of the tank for two whole days and did not come up for food, no matter how I wiggled the water or the normal things that get his attention. I just felt like having faith this time, so I pinned a piece of prayer cloth on the air tube. As I did so thinking that it would heal the waters and the fish would be heeled, Silverdollar was directly under the prayer cloth at the bottom of the tank. He swam straight up and ATE THE PRAYER CLOTH, and dropped straight back down in the tank. And so by next feeding he was normal and healthy and has been for the past two months.

WARNING! Bible Usage Can Be Habit Forming. Regular reading can cause loss of ANXIETY and FEAR; decreased appetite for LYING, CHEATING, STEALING, HATING, ANGER and ENVY. Symptoms include: increased sensation of LOVE, JOY, PEACE, COMPASSION and CONTENTMENT. If symptoms persist, just PRAISE THE LORD.

I could also add that, "no regular daily diet of The Word of our day, by pushing play or reading" makes one weak.

I was praying for the believers in Iran while I was fishing. In the middle of my prayer I got a bite, and pulled the fish in. If I register it, it will be the world-record gray snapper.

I was inspired reading the "Serving God in the kitchen" testimony. It is true what Brother Branham said about a woman's place is in the kitchen. I received the experience of sanctification while washing and drying dishes in the kitchen. I received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as I leaned against the fridge and took a moments break to pray, when working in the kitchen. I have also had many visits of the Holy Spirit, as I worshipped the Lord, prayed, and sang...while working in the kitchen.

One time I did up a large batch of sweet bun dough. It wouldn't rise, so I looked back at the recipe and realized that I hadn't added the yeast. Years before a friend of mine said she prayed over a cake that wasn't rising and then it did. So believing that Jesus Christ is the Same Yesterday, Today, and Forever, I dumped the "warm water yeast" on the large glue-like lump of dough. I started praying as I was punching it, trying not splash the yeast everywhere, and trying to get the yeast to somehow soak in. That was difficult, but the dough started rising. When my company came over for dinner, they complimented on how those buns were so delicious, and soft in texture, including one compliment from someone older saying that they were the "best ever buns" he had had in his entire life!

A couple of weeks ago my washing machine started making a horrible noise and it smelled like rubber burning. I knew from past experience that it was probably the belt. Right at this time, money is so tight, we just didn't have the extra to get it fixed. I got out my prayer cloth and went in and placed it on the washer and asked God to fix it. Saying that it was a need and He knows our situation. Today I had to wash a load of clothes. I put the load in, turned the washer on, and went about my other duties. I kept listening for the noise, but everything was so quiet. I went in to check it out, and it was all done, with no noise, no smell. Sooo, quiet. Oh, I praise God for all His Blessings to me. When God answer's prayer, it's done perfectly.

I put the checkbook (Jesus Checks) to use last month for my teeth. I had real bad cavities and the doctor said I would probably need a root canal. I dread needles, but I dread pain even more. I did not want to go through with it, but I knew that if I didn't the condition could worsen and I already had a toothache. I went home and wrote out a check, I prayed and placed the check in my Bible and carried my Bible with me everyday. I felt that the closer the check was to me, the more my faith would hold. The devil would still taunt me, and I'd even dream of it. Finally, the day came and the doctor was able to take care of my cavities without the root canal. I told him I had prayed so that I wouldn't have to go through with the procedure. He smiled and asked me if I prayed before I ate my candy. Come to think of it... I never have.

I have just one more cavity to treat and I thank the Lord for sparing me from the root canal.

"Lord," I prayed, "You said that a dog wouldn't even move its tongue as the children came out of Egypt." The neighbors were playing gangster rap loudly as I worked in my garden. A moment's pause to see if the Lord would answer. The music stopped so abruptly that I involuntarily shouted "GLORY!"

There is more to the Gospel Hymns than the beauty and the blessedness of the singing.

When they were first produced, VGR airlifted a whole package for us to distribute as a foretaste, while awaiting the arrival of the container with the big consignment of them.

At that time importing CDs was an expensive affair: a dollar for each of them in taxes.

When I went to clear them, the custom officer asked, "Are they new?"

"Yes, they are!" I answered.

He opened the package, spread them all out and, looking at the covers, his face changed: "I can see they are all overused! Why do you people allow the West to make this country their dumping sight?" (the Gospel Hymns cover is designed to look like it is weathered and old). I apologized and told him that I hadn't realized they were going to send us their old stuff.

"Take them away! Next time they had better send you new ones." I went out of the door laughing and singing glory hallelujahs.

I have worked with VGR since 1985, and these things happen all the time. Some, if not most, of the decisions may at first look totally impracticable and ill-advised, until you implement them to the letter! That choice for the cover was a great inspiration. This Work is of God, any missionary in the field will tell you that as a fact.
