Just wanted to share with you how we were asked for our daughter's hand in marriage.
Ryan had found a VGR check in Crystal's Bible, while he was leafing through it during Church, when she had left for a moment. He took it, put it in his shirt pocket and forgot about it.
After church that day, Marty and I met Ryan, his family, and both sets of grandparents for lunch. I saw the backside of the check in his pocket and asked him about it. He said He couldn't tell me what it was for, and he kind of looked a little sickly after that.
We invited the family over for dinner that Tuesday and later that night after his parents had left, Ryan asked to talk to us in private. Of course we said yes, and he asked if we could cash a check for him. We said, "Sure" and I turned to go into the other room to get some money, when I suddenly realized what he was referring to.
I asked, "You're talking about the check you had in your pocket at the restaurant, aren't you?"
He said "Yes" and he pulled a VGR check out of his pocket and handed it to Marty.
It was filled out for "A Holy Ghost Filled Husband" and signed by our daughter.
He said he wanted to ask us for our daughter's hand in marriage.
Marty asked him, "Do you have the Holy Ghost?"
Ryan replied, "Yes sir, I do."
Well, I won't go into the rest of the details after that, but I thought that was the most memorable things that I will ever experience in my life!
I thank the Lord for bringing such a wonderful, sweet, respectful young man into Crystal's life.
God Bless,
Sis Angie
