After a recent Wednesday church service of hearing our prophet, my wife and I needed to go by Wal-Mart to pick up a few things, and to do a little missionary work. So as I started in, I put a witnessing CD in my coat pocket.
As she went to pick up the things we needed, I walked the isles looking for someone with a moment to spare. It seemed that all were quite occupied with their shopping, so I went back near the entrance to a little sandwich shop with tables and stools and sat down, and this is where it gets good.
The Wal-Mart employee that stands by the door left his post and came over to where I was sitting. As we started talking, he said that, in addition to working at Wal-Mart, he played jazz and did parties and other things like weddings. At that point, I told him that I do weddings also. He said, "You do?" I said, "Yes, I'm a minister," and then he told me this story.
While working at an armored car company, he received a call to go straight to the hospital about his daughter, and shortly after, she passed away. You can imagine, his world fell in. He was crushed and angry, wondering how a good God could take his daughter.
With the weight of all this on him, he felt as if he was at his end, and he couldn't take any more. He raised his arms, cried out to God, and fell to his knees crying. He felt God answered his cry, as it seemed a weight was lifted off him. His thinking changed and he knew God took her for a good purpose, maybe to save her from bad trouble later on.
I said you must like good preaching then, and he said he did. Then I gave him the CD, and said, "I would like to give you this CD with a sermon on it 'That Day On Calvary'."
