The persecution on Iranian believers continues. As reported months ago, Brother Youcef Nadarkani was convicted of apostasy and sentenced to death. His appeal was denied by the higher court, but at the same time, sent back to the local court for review. He remains in prison, where he has been for the past two years.
The suffering has by no means been limited to Brother Youcef. Over the past few months, numerous other believers have been threatened, abused, arrested, and imprisoned, with a push from the Iranian government to put pressure on home churches. Recently Brother Behrouz Sadegh-Khandjani, a pastor, husband, and father, has been ordered to serve one year for "crimes against the Islamic order."
Another minister, William Belyad, and his 8-month pregnant wife, Nazly, have both also been sentenced to “crimes against the Islamic order” and ordered to serve one year in prison. An Iranian prison is not a place to have a child or care for a newborn.
The Iranian believers would appreciate your prayers as they do their best to serve the Lord amidst this unyielding persecution.
