I would like to give a testimony of something that happened recently to us while traveling. Our wonderful Lord is always watching over us and provides our needs, even to strangers!
On a recent holiday weekend we were returning from Memphis, Tennessee and traveling Interstate 65. I had my 89-year-old aunt with me. She was coming to visit us while her great grandchildren came up for the Still Waters Camp.
We had made a stop at a gas station just outside of Nashville to refuel, and noticed that one of the tires was low. My husband aired the tire up and then we left. We had just got back on the freeway about three miles, and then we had a flat tire!
The traffic was so busy, just one car after another speeding down the highway! It was sweltering hot outside, but we were afraid to sit in the van in case of an accident. I took my aunt and we walked away from the road, knowing that my husband would be inches away from speeding traffic on the driver's side of the road, changing the tire.
We prayed and called home for more prayer support as we were in a very dangerous situation. I prayed someone would stop and help us, but at the time, no one stopped as traffic was just to busy traveling to get back home from the holiday weekend. They were just too busy to stop on a very hot day to help strangers out.
My husband was almost finished when a man in a silver pick up truck stopped to help. I noticed that he was a firefighter. He said that he saw us on the side of the road but could not stop at that time, as traffic was too busy to get over. He drove on down the road and he said that the Lord told him to "go back and help those people." He had to drive further down the road to the next exit, and then turn around and go back the opposite direction, until he found the next exit he could get off to come back to help us.
He helped my husband get under the van to put the flat tire back on and load up the van with the suitcases. We thanked him so much for his help. I tried to offer him some money but he would not let us pay him. He said it was his pleasure, and said that he knew we would want some help and it was so hot to be standing out in the heat.
I went back to the van and got three books of Brother Branham's out of my purse. I told the gentleman that it was a real blessing for us that he stopped to help and that we would like to give him some books that will be a blessing to him. He gladly accepted the books and said that he would read them. His next statement surprised us, "Now, I know why the Lord told me to turn around to come back and help you!" He didn't say anything else and we just said, "God Bless you."
Thank the Lord for watching over my husband and our family in this dangerous situation and for keeping us safe.
