He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Psalm 62:6-8
What does God’s Word mean to a believer? It is everything to us. As David said in the Psalm, "Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us." And He hears our prayers!
We received the following testimony about the Prayer Changes Things article posted on Aug 31. It’s from a family that put their trust in God’s Word through prayer, and, like always, He answered.
About two months ago, Satan hit our family hard. My husband backslid terribly. It shook me to the core. I didn't know what to do, nor where to go. I knew I had to love, forgive, and stand by him. But it was so hard to do when what he was doing was so wrong and I had children to raise.
I got desperate. I told the Lord He was my only avenue and refuge. And in Him would I only trust. My children and I got on our knees several times a day and cried out to the Lord. We pled the blood of Jesus over daddy and applied the Token. I knew prayer was my only weapon. It would CHANGE this horrible situation we were in. I printed this very quote you have on this testimony and put it up on our fridge for all to see in big letters.
My husband came home one day, looked at it, and tears welled up in his eyes. He knew what it said for he knew the Word well.
He looked at me and said he felt my prayers!
Praise God. All is well now and we are climbing up a mountain as a family and pressing on!
Now, look what prayer does. Prayer changed from death to life. God had said, "The man's going to die." And I believe Isaiah told the truth. He was borned a prophet, and his words were true and came from God. And then Hezekiah's prayer changed the opinion of God. Oh, my. I like that. Prayer changes things. It's the most powerful force that God ever put in the hands of man, is a sincere prayer offered to God. Jesus said, "Whatever you ask the Father in My Name, that I'll do." Believe it. Try it once, and see if it isn't true.
