Every year, they travel over six hundred miles and visit us here in Jeffersonville. They leave after work on Thursday, drive all night, and arrive at VGR first thing on Friday morning. Do they spend the weekend visiting friends or seeing the sights? No, they come to Jeffersonville to work from daylight to dark in the mud, rain, wind, and everything else mother nature has to offer.
They spent the first day at Still Waters, cleaning up down trees, picking up branches, pressure washing, raking, and shoveling. The next day was spent at VGR, where they did the same thing all day long. By the end of the weekend, their bodies were tired and their muscles ached, just in time to make the 11-hour drive back home.
Why would these brothers from Pennsylvania, Arkansas, and a few from here in Jeffersonville make such an effort to volunteer their time? They did it because of their love for the Bride of Christ and their dedication to sending the Message around the world.
On behalf of all the believers that will visit VGR or Still Waters in the coming months: Thank you, our faithful friends, for making such a sacrifice. You are a blessing to all of us.
You know what I think of these people, that where they come from? I think of Hebrews, the 11th chapter, "Were sawed asunder, and wandered about in goat skin and sheep skin, of whom the world is not worthy of." They all bear their testimony.
