Faith Builder

We received this testimony from a young man who put his faith into action and protected an old friend.

Sunday the 22nd of April, I was contacted by an old friend who I grew up with. I haven’t heard from him for quite a while. We were fellow homeschoolers and we have known each other since I can remember. I haven’t seen him for about eight years due to moving away. We were messaging back and forth, and he told me he was stationed out of Fort Brag, but is now in Afghanistan.

He is an Airborne Combat Engineer, an explosive expert. After talking a little while and trying to encourage him, he asked me to remember him in prayer because he said, “Things are getting interesting here.” He said there have been some close calls but no one in his unit has been seriously injured yet. I told him I would be keeping him in prayer.

Well, he messaged me again on the 27th saying, “So, about your prayers… God has come through again.” I asked him what happened and he said on the 24th he was on a dismounted patrol and a trigger man blew him up with an IED (improvised explosive device). He said the trigger man detonated it just at the wrong time because he walked away with only a concussion. He said it’s only by the grace of God that he is still alive! I know his family is keeping him in prayer and others as well, but I thought it was so awesome that just two days after we talked, this happened.

It was encouraging to me for it was another faith builder because I know HE is still HEARING and ANSWERING our prayers! I want to thank the Lord for His grace in protecting my friend and answering prayer!

It was also a good reminder to me that there are still people on the front lines losing and putting their lives in danger for the freedom we still have here in America. I’m thankful for the sacrifices made by our armed forces. I hope this is a little faith builder in the power of prayer!

God Bless you,

William
