We received this testimony in response to the article posted on June 27, titled, “The Real Gift.” With the situation of the world: economic hardships, immorality, stress between people and families, civil unrest, etc; we often find ourselves seeking refuge from these persecutions but forgetting to ask for the real gift, which is the Holy Spirit working in our lives, drawing us closer to Him and preparing us for the Coming of the Lord.

I can't wait till my daughter, who was recently baptized, reads this. My family and I also lost our house due to the economy and I have gone through many hard trials lately, but in the midst of the storms of life, I was blessed with this same gift.

I know that the Lord was dealing with her heart for about three years now (baptism), but because she is such a bashful girl and afraid of people looking at her, she had put it off. I never wanted to push her because I wanted to be absolutely sure that it was the Lord pressing it upon her heart and not because of anyone else. I prayed about it and asked the Lord to help her overcome her fears.

One evening she came to me in tears and told me that the Lord was pricking her heart to be baptized, and so the next Sunday she was. And now she's seeking that Gift that was promised to her! I believe with all my heart she will receive it soon.
