Standing On The Promises

We received this testimony from a sister in Arizona, who received some grim news from her husband. The family stood strong on the promises of our Lord Jesus, and He rewarded their faith.

For our family, 2011 presented various challenges. However, at times when we were “really going through it” and especially now I can see how His guidance and mercy towards us has positively impacted our lives.

In early 2011, my husband noticed that a lymph node in his neck area (under left ear) started growing unexpectedly. Within a few months this lymph node was getting significantly larger in diameter, over the size of a quarter. I encouraged him to go to the doctor to have it removed. In April, 2011 he went to see his regular doctor, and was referred to a local hospital for testing. He went to the hospital and had a fine needle aspiration performed on the growth.

Based on these results, he was referred to a surgeon to remove the growth. At that appointment the doctor said that the first tests were inconclusive, so he requested a second fine needle aspiration, and these results indicated that he had lymphoma, a common type of cancer. He was referred to a cancer specialist. When he came home and told me he had lymphoma, all I could say was, “No, you don’t. Let’s just reject it and not even say the word of it (cancer).” Surprisingly we were very calm during this conversation. At the time I felt such faith that he was already being healed and simply didn’t want to give Satan a foothold. I went with my husband to see the doctor for his next appointment and it was recommended that he have an MRI, and this MRI confirmed that he had lymphoma, although it had not spread throughout the body. In addition, a biopsy was recommended by a professional surgeon.

During the upcoming weeks, and prior to visiting the surgeon, we had noted that the lymph nodes had already gone down significantly in size. When we visited the surgeon he was all too happy to remove it (business must be slow). It is noted that there were many long term negative side effects should they have removed it, to include potential paralysis. This appeared too risky and we didn’t consider it. During this time we prayed consistently, and accepted that he was already healed. In addition, my husband also tried some natural remedies. When he went back to the doctor in early 2012 for an annual check up, his lymph nodes were of normal size.

Simply put, there was simply nothing there for the doctor to test. The cancer doctor was so amazed, and my husband was happy to tell the doctor that he had been healed from lymphoma.
