The following is the conclusion of our series on the 1950 Publication HYVÄ SANOMA (Good Tidings), originally written in Finnish and now translated into English.

HOPE OF THE NATIONS

“Oh, Saviour, Whom the earth is waiting for
And Whom we’ve been dreaming about for so long!
Oh, have mercy on your yearning people
And give us the kingdom of peace!”

In the nights when I was coming back from the Branham meetings in Helsinki and Kuopio, I constantly heard the words of the people in St. Luke, “We have seen wondrous things today.” At the end of one service Brother Lindsay did say, “You have seen and heard tonight things that many kings and prophets would’ve wanted to see but they did not.” Meeting by meeting the faith increased, and if only we would’ve been able to continue what had happened, for “all is possible to him that believes!” We are on the verge of a new age.

Almost two thousand year ago, there was a lonely man on the earth. In the eyes of the people He was just a son of a carpenter, who with pity had mercy on sinners and the sick. All those poor people who were under the enemy. He had an amazing Gospel to preach of the Heavenly Kingdom that the people of that time could find through Him. To sinners who were oppressed by the devil, He declared forgiveness of sins. When they approached Him, He did mighty works in the lives of blind, deaf, leprous, and lame people. He, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, received from the high priests and government a thorn crown, suit of mocking, lashes, insults, and on top of it all, the tree of the cross, where He was nailed as praise for His good deed.

“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:4,5

And now, almost 2000 years later, we’re suddenly brought back to the days of our Saviour and the apostles! I saw how the lame left their crutches, how the deaf heard, the blind saw and the mute spoke. I got to speak with them, touch them with my hands, and saw their joy and tears of happiness. These have been wonderful days, and we can live in the blessing of the full Gospel, waiting for them to continue by His grace, Who is the author, finisher, and He who perfects our faith. Praise God!

When I saw the crowd of hundreds of sick people, who were rushing into the meetings in wheelchairs and people laying on litter, pitiful people, who needed help all the time; I saw retarded people, possessed, and victims of different miserable things, a hope lit up in me of a time when all curses would be taken out of the world. Never has medicine been in such a high place as in our day and still never have there been so many sick people as now. The only hope for this sick mankind is the soon coming of Jesus Christ and the millennium kingdom of peace that comes on earth. Then can the mankind that has been tormented and troubled by the devil, rest under His wing.

Unsaved people, change your minds and believe the Gospel in order to take part in that great day that will soon appear! May our common prayer be when we see the distress of the mankind, “Come Lord Jesus, the only hope of the nations! Come and remove the curse of sin from the ends of the earth and give us the kingdom of peace we yearn for!”
