Journal Entry #1 May 15, 2020

Journaling has been around, in one way or another, since time began. As its definition states, it can be anything from writing down an experience we’ve had, to jotting down a random observation of something that sticks out to us. Sometimes it’s as simple as writing a prayer letter to the Lord. Remember Brother Branham saying as a child he wrote a letter to the Lord Jesus and tacked it on a tree? And throughout his life, Brother Branham carried a pad of paper with him so he could write down anything that the Lord might lay upon his heart during his Quiet Times. Brother Branham said,

David, laying up here as a fugitive, was thinking about that, how that great victory was. Then he must have got to thinking about the psalms, how sometimes out there in the mountains he’d lay and meditate on God. He said he tied His commandments on his—his bedpost and his fingers, and everywhere he go. “I always got the Lord before me, always, and I shall not be moved.” He kept God before him. And the great victories he had! When he’d get so inspired, he was a psalmist, he’d jump up and take his pen and write down the psalms and sing them. He’d get into the Spirit, and dance and dance and dance in the Spirit. How he’d get so carried away in the Spirit, he’d dance in the Spirit by writing these psalms. And he must have come over the different psalms, “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures,” the 23rd Psalm, “He leadeth me beside still waters. He restoreth my soul. Oh, He leadeth me in paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake. And, yea, though I walk through the valley of shadow of death, I’ll fear no evil. Thou art with me.”

In the last few seasons at Still Waters, Brother Joseph encouraged the kids to write down a list of what they wanted to receive from their camp. Once that started, the kids lit fire, and it soon grew into writing letters to the Lord every day of the camp. The results have been INCREDIBLE.

Brother Branham mentions so many times, “you that are taking this down,” or “write down the text,” expressing that by doing so it will help you in your STUDY OF THE WORD.

You can journal topics that Brother Branham speaks of: his old ford truck, eagles, sewing, or a study on the Seals. We want this to be a creative outlet for everyone! There is no “wrong” way to journal. We will post themes in the future, to help inspire you with your studies. Another way you can utilize these themes is at your Sunday school classes, whether they be at your Church or Home Services.

This is something that can help keep track of how the Lord answered a prayer you have written down. It can be anything that is upon your heart: a question, a struggle, a testimony, your Red-letter days, which are many! ~Journaling is for everyone.~
