Dear Sisters and Brothers,
This is a testimony to the glory of God of His mercy and grace. I can’t help but to think of these words in trying to express my gratitude to the Lord Jesus.
If we with ink the ocean fill, and were the sky of parchment made;
Were every stalk on earth a quill, And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry;
Or could the scroll contain the whole, though stretched from sky to sky.
Oh love of God, how rich and pure! How fathomless and strong!
It shall forever more endure, the saints and Angels song.”
A few weeks ago, I began having troubles with my colon. The doctor wanted to get a CAT scan to see if I had diverticulitis, as I had had it several years ago. My doctor called and said that the results showed a large mass in my colon. The radiologist said it was, “worrisome for malignancy and had invaded the appendix.” The radiologist recommended I consult a surgeon. That wasn’t what I expected to hear, and I didn’t want surgery. In fact, all I wanted was to hang up the phone and pretend I hadn’t talked to the doctor at all. I didn’t believe it. Further, my appendix was removed years ago.
I told my doctor I would pray first and see what the Lord wanted me to do, if anything. After a couple of days, I called the doctor back and asked if I could have the scan repeated in a couple of months. He said I could, but it would continue to grow and it was dangerous. He strongly suggested I have a colonoscopy. Well, I hate those things, as I have had one before, but I agreed I would at least do that. In my heart I felt calm, but the devil sure talked to my head (The Greatest Battle Ever Fought).
I knew I had to remain positive, praising the Lord for healing me, and go forward. The prophet told us, Only Believe.
I also knew the answer is as close as “Pressing Play.” The more tapes you hear, the more your faith builds. Every time you hear God speaking through Brother Branham, He reveals His Word more and more to you. A few days before my test, I was in my car listening to the Voice Radio and the tape playing was “A Greater Witness” (53-1115e). It was so good, but I didn’t get to hear it all. That night as I went to bed, I decided to hear some Messages. The second one I put on was “A Greater Witness.”
Around 1 AM, Brother Branham began praying for the sick and discerning the sick in the audience. I remember he was praying for a lady with stomach problems, and as he did, he asked everyone in the audience with stomach problems to stand and receive their healing. I thought, “I’m standing!” Then I laid back down as he prayed for more. There was a young man who had his eye put out from a friend playing with a trinket and had started to regain his vision, but started reading comic books. The prophet said “don’t do that.” I thought, how wonderful that God knew something about that boy that would seem so simple, and yet it was taking his time away from the Lord! It made me feel so small. I can get so wrapped up in looking at the news of the day on the computer and such, and it takes my time from the Lord. I repented and asked the Lord to forgive me. About that time, he said this to a woman in the audience:
Don’t you have colon trouble, setting there, lady?” Yeah, isn’t that right? You were weeping just then. You were wondering when it was coming your time. This is your time now. Uh-huh. God bless you.
53-1115e - A Greater Witness
Oh my, the grace and mercy of Father. When I laid back down, I felt such peace and calm. I slept so peacefully.
When I awoke on that same morning, about 6:30, this was the quote of the day at VGR:
‘Refuse to sign for anything the devil brings. He will have to take it back. Say, "I refuse to have it. I just won't have it, no, sir." He will have to take it back in the Name of the Lord. If you believe it, and confess it, and say, "I've accept Jesus Christ as my Healer," there's no affliction or disease can stay on you. Stay right with it.
But the first time that you get weak and say, "Well, yes, I've still got it." Then you drop right down to where you was at. You signed for it, then took it back. Say, "Yes, Mr. Devil, I—I'll have it back." Oh, brother. You stand right there as—as long as there's a breath in your body, say, "I refuse to have it. I refuse to have it." How do you feeling? "Wonderful, hallelujah." That's it. That's right. Show the devil what you're made out of; you're borned again by the Spirit of God, and you don't have to bow down to his images. Stay right there, say, "I don't want your stuff."
"Why, here's your name on it, the doctor said…"
"I don't care what he said. I know what God said. Get away from here with it."
That's right, that's the way to treat him; hand it back. He was the one give it to you, he will have to be the one take it back.”
51-0729e - The Second Miracle
After the colonoscopy, the doctor came into where I was and told me there was no mass, no cancer, no infection or inflammation. He just didn’t understand what the radiologist had seen, so he was going to call him. I was praising God. He then told me he scheduled an MRI, which is another kind of follow-up test, because he wanted to find out if there was something else in my abdomen. The test was performed yesterday.
This morning the doctor called me, and I already have a copy of the results in my hands. No cancer, no mass, no infection, no inflammation. Praise the Lord Jesus!
Brothers and Sisters, I am sorry for the long testimony. No. I am not sorry. Our God can do anything! He has healed me time and again. There isn’t one of you who is less worthy than me. And the greatest thing I can think of is how He chose us, and saved us, and filled us with the Holy Ghost, and is revealing Himself to us and His Third Pull. Whatever you have need of, do not doubt in your heart, and you can have what you say. Satan will tell you all kinds of junk in your mind, but he cannot have your heart. You keep that for God alone and God will preserve your mind and body as well. As Brother Joseph reminds us, a total surrender, a prisoner for Christ.
Just one more quote before I close. If you are going through something right now, and I am sure you are because Satan is angry with us, just remember this:
God has not promised to go through life, any believer to go through without troubles. But He has promised grace sufficient to take care of these troubles. That’s what thrills my heart, is to know that His grace is sufficient. All of our depths, and—and troubles, and flusterations, yet God has promised to see us through. That’s just as much as we could ask of Him, knowing that He knows the road.
As Joshua said to Israel, “You have not traveled this a way before. We haven’t traveled it.” So He knows the way and can point it out.”
