MIRACLE CLAIMED HERE
Minister Cured Deafness, Says 18-Year-Old Girl
A miracle has been wrought in Winnipeg.
That is the claim of slight, nattily-dressed 38-year-old minister of the Missionary Baptist Church, Jeffersonville, Ind. –Rev. William Branham. “This is not the only healing miracle I have performed,” he claims, “I have helped hundreds of thousands of people.”
Mr. Branham was conducting healing meetings at the Zion church Monday, when the reputed miracle took place. Eighteen-year-old Betty Lou Hughes, of Rockford, Ill., said that she had been deaf ever since she could remember. She had heard of Rev. M. Branham and friends brought her to Winnipeg for his meetings. “At the meeting I heard a big noise, as though someone had dropped something,” relates Betty Lou, in slow, halting words.
Mrs. S. Dry, of Rockford, Ill., who drove the girls down, claims Mr. Branham has brought to life two dead people, one at San Francisco and the other at Los Angeles.
His miracles are performed in this way, Mr. Branham said, “I receive vibrations caused by the germs in the person. I can usually tell what the disease is and when the devil leaves the person, the vibration stops.”
