Dear Saints, I greet you all in the precious Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I would like to share a short testimony, as I have a thankful heart. My name is Gideon, and I live in Cape Town, South Africa. I am currently working as a physician at one of the major hospitals in the province. The hospital is currently overwhelmed with Covid-19 patients, as Cape Town is currently the epicenter of the outbreak in South Africa. One day when coming from work, I began experiencing symptoms in keeping with Covid-19. I went for the swab, and two days later my result came back positive.
Overnight, I went from working long shifts to being isolated alone for 14 days as per our work policy. Within a week, my 9-month old daughter also began showing symptoms. As a physician, I knew the potential implication the disease had for myself and my family at home. I believe medicine is a calling, a way for me to serve God and others. Brother Branham even says that doctors are God’s “love gift” (56-0612 Life Is The Healer).
However, I was reminded that despite my work being a way to serve, that was not the most important thing. I am thankful that God used this illness to bring a halt in my life and allowed me to see I was becoming consumed with work during the pandemic. He brought me to a place like He brought Elijah:
God likes to fellowship with His people. But we won’t stand still long enough for Him to fellowship with us. We’re so busy skipping about, from place to place, and so much. “Set still, Elijah.” He wanted three years and six months of fellowship. We can’t give Him three minutes, hardly.
57-0825M Hebrews, Chapter Two #1
I recalled how Brother Branham speaks about quiet time:
But listen to His still small Voice. Every one of you people who profess to be Christians, get yourself quiet before Him. Don’t let the washing hinder. Don’t let the work hinder. Don’t let nothing hinder. Don’t let nobody know what you’re doing. Just go before Him. Get up in the woods somewhere. Get out on the side of the road. Go into the secret closet and close the door. When the kids gets at school, there get down on your knees. You’ve heard all kinds of voices everywhere, but just get down and stay there until those voices are silenced and you begin to lift up. It’ll change you. It’ll make you different, like It did this little Samuel. It’ll do something to you if you’ll just do it. Now, It’ll make you what you should be. It’ll make you the kind of Christian that you ought to be.
I am happy to report that my daughter and I both recovered well without needing any hospitalization, and my wife has remained symptom free. I would like to thank all the believers for their prayers and support during this time, and above all thank God for the period of rest and fellowship. I would also like to appreciate all the frontline healthcare workers who are working tirelessly through the pandemic, and I pray that God would comfort those who have lost loved ones during this time.
God Bless You All,
Gideon Titus
