Hurricane Irma

25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Luke 21:25-28

We are seeing some powerful signs in the United States. On August 21, a solar eclipse traveled the full length of this country. It was the first solar eclipse whose path of totality stayed completely in the contiguous United States since the founding of this country in 1776. Then a few days later, on August 25, Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas and caused what is probably the worst natural disaster in Texas history. To put it in perspective, the 1937 flood in the Ohio River Valley that we hear Brother Branham speak of so often cost $500 million ($8.7 billion in today’s money) to rebuild. Even with modern flood control methods and much stronger buildings, estimates for rebuilding after Harvey are about $100 billion.

Now, the largest hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic Ocean is barreling towards south Florida. Irma is a Category 5 storm, which is the most powerful hurricane rating, and stronger than Category 4 Hurricane Harvey. There are also many more believers in the path of Irma than were in the path of Harvey.

At this moment, the storm is traveling just north of the Dominican Republic and Haiti. It’s good news that the eye is missing the island of Hispaniola. Haiti has been hit by a few serious natural disasters in recent years, and we pray that they can now breathe a sigh of relief. Thousands of believers live on Hispaniola, mainly in Haiti.

Forecasters are saying that Irma may hit northern Cuba, where there is potential for major flooding and wind damage. Then, the storm is predicted to move north, where the Bahamas and Florida are directly in its path. Florida is home to about a thousand believers.

While Irma is headed towards Florida, a Category 1 Hurricane is threatening the Gulf coast of Mexico, near Vera Cruz. It is expected to strengthen up to Category 3 before it makes landfall, and could travel inland to Mexico City. Again, thousands of believers are in its path.

We ask for the prayers of the saints, and we are once again expecting that the protecting hand of the Lord Jesus will be upon the believers in the path of these storms.

Here is a list of churches to put on your prayer list. This is the most comprehensive list that we have, but there may be a few churches that we missed. If you attend or know of a church that we missed in Florida or the Southeast Coast, then please leave feedback and we will include it.

The Bible teaches us that when we see these signs, that we should look up because our redemption is drawing nigh. Bride, let’s look up!
