We have just received troubling news from Bro. Kubuya, our office manager in Goma, Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. He informed us that over the past day, the M23 rebel group has taken control of significant parts of the city, plunging it into a war zone.

According to our records, Goma is home to over 19,000 Message believers and more than 100 Message churches.

Bro. Kubuya shared the situation as of this Monday morning: “We are under fire; the rebels have just entered the city of Goma. Gunfire can be heard everywhere in the city.” He further explained that water and electricity have been cut off, banks have been closed for three days, and food has become scarce, with prices tripling. The conflict remains ongoing.

Despite these hardships, Bro. Kubuya assured us that God continues to watch over them and their families. He earnestly requests that the saints remember them in prayer during this critical time.
